Fuel pump took about 15 minutes. Cleaning up and painting frame and bed in between rainstorms? Yuh-2weeks.

I milked frame prep/paint for a bit more than 2 weeks on my dually, treated the same area you did. You can really burn some time there. I've dropped a full 34 gallon tank before too, just me and a floor jack. It sucked, but I think it was quicker to do it that way than to yank the bed. But that truck was not going to get the frame scrubbed, it was a flipper. Are you exposing this truck to the salt? If not I wouldn't have bothered with the wax. I get to relearn rust here in a couple of years myself. Not looking forward to that aspect of moving, but not having 100 degree summer days will be pretty sweet.

The prospect of the “suck” and wanting to clean up and paint frame was why I lifted bed off. It really was easy, except for that 1 bolt buy the filler neck of course. Bolt extractor worked beautifully. I’m really expecting having a NOS sending unit(typically lasting 20+ years) and Walbro pump that themselves have a typically long life, I shouldn’t be doing that for quite a few years. So, this was the time to do the frame. There was only surface rust, 100% solid frame. And yes there is the Northeast where I live, so trying to protect it. Hoping for a winter truck next year. I may just retire before winter anyway.
