Hey there,

My 5.7 silverado is overheating after putting in a new radiator. It holds pressure pretty damn good, and coolant levels are looking good. The gauge climbs up to redline, falls, climbs again pretty rapidly. Funny thing is, it never got past 180 before I pulled the old radiator yesterday.

Maybe try burping the cooling system of any air pockets if you haven't already tried that? I just pop the radiator cap off and give the hoses a good squeeze, you should see air escape the system as the bubbles rise to the top.

Yup, thanks for confirming my dummy suspicion. I burped it a few times the last two days. Did it again this morning, and it seems to be running cooler.
