Really dropped the ball on updating this thread...

So far, i've removed the 4" cowl and put a brand new 2" cowl on it. The 4" hood just looked way too obnoxious. Added a sport grille and bowtie, new headlights and finished the engine bay wiring.

At that point, I decided since I went OG on the look of the exterior, that I was going to remove the 95+ interior conversion to it. Happened to have a guy sell our parts business a SUPER clean 92 RCLB K1500. So I tore the dash, modified harness and heater box out of the truck to make room for the new stuff.

In comes the SUPER clean 92, i'm going to use the dash, doors, door panels and heater box in my 90. After a bit of GM wiring diagram review, my 1990 engine harness (well, whats left of it) will plug right into the 92 dash harness. I already have a modified DRAC from the 95 interior swap.

Hopefully between parting trucks and dealing with customers this weekend, i'll have the time to roll the new heater box and dash into this truck.
when i first got my 92 sport i was going to do the dash swap but the OG dash grew on me i think it go's with the outside better.
you did the right thing

Engine wiring is squared away. Connected HP tuners for the first time today, powered up the truck. Flashed the 0411 pcm from the blazer tune to the tune I built for the truck.

Hopefully, we'll get it started this weekend.

Finally added an intake tube and air filter to the setup. Still have to build a support bracket, but itll be ducting cool air from the cowl hood.

Also, going to move the coils from the firewall, planning on building brackets so they'll hover above the valvecovers.

So... I've been at an impasse for quite a while on clean instrumentation.

I hate the look of aluminum dashes and hack job gauge layouts. They just ruin the clean look of the interior...

I'm also really really really bothered by the gauges hanging off the right side of my gauge bezel.

Spent some time searching through the options and found an insert from Classic Dash that replaces the factory cluster and bezel, allowing the use of aftermarket gauges with a clean install.

The only bummer is the $350 price tag after shipping.

I guess it's just a drop in the bucket compared to the $700 worth of autometer gauges I just ordered for the truck.

Updates updates updates...

Had some more time to mess with the truck. Hopefully going to get it started this weekend on the 24x setup!

Also did a 5/6 drop on the truck this week. I plan on ordering 2" drop shackles and making it a 5/8. But first I want to see what it looks like on a set of welds before going any lower.

The gauges are starting to trickle in. I hope to have them installed this weekend.

It's a regular pulse driven one. As I already installed the dakota digital converter along with a hall effect sensor in my TH400 to drive the factory speedo.

All I have to do is flip a switch on the converter to the 16k ppm and itll drive the autometer.

I did install one of the autometer gps units in a friends prostreet Volvo p1800 last weekend though, really neat piece.
