As you can see, there was quite a bit of corrosion inside the cap. The idler pulley is the original and didn't have very much play in it, but I figured why not.

Originally I planned on leaving the keys, but since we torched them to get the torsion bars out, I bought new keys from Suspension Maxx in Bay City. Its just going to be cranked level so no insane angles.

My order of Chassis Saver came in today so I spent a few hours brushing it on the frame. Did two coats and it covered really good. The LCA's came back today from having the bushings and balljoints pressed out. I have to clean them up and brush them with Chassis Saver then send them back to my buddy's work to have the new stuff pressed in.

Had the new bushings and lower ball joints pressed into the LCA's tonight. Waiting on all of my mounting hardware to get here from LMC and I'll be able to start reassembly.

Well it’s a small update in a big way. We started reassembly!!

My buddy came over tonight and we were able to get the new keys as well as the LCA’s and torsion bars reinstalled. Also loosely mounted the UCA’s and shocks with the new hardware from LMC. We were able to get the new center link, idler arm bracket, and idler arm bolted in to. It’s finally starting to come together. There’s still a lot more to do, but it’s looking good.

Had two days off work so yesterday and today I hauled 12 tons of crushed asphalt for my driveway. Today my buddy and I got the hub, knuckles, end links, and tie rods bolted in and torqued down. Only thing that was a huge PITA was the end links for some reason.

Have to try to clean up my old dust shields and reuse them now. After that it’s new calipers, pads and front brake hoses. One step closer!

I’ve been trying to figure out a way to clean up the brake dust shields and heard some good things about this stuff. Can’t wait to see how they turn out.

All of my new brake parts came in too. Hopefully within the next few days I can throw everything together.

Spent some time today working on the front brakes. I thought it would go relatively smooth, but nope. Passenger side went together fine, but the driver side line decided to rust out and snap on me.

Got the caliper hung only to figure out they sent me two completely different brands & colors. I’m **** as hell so they have to match. Going to replace them tomorrow when I have a new line bent.

Old lines were well beyond their life expectancy

Worked on the truck for awhile today. Got the dust shields and calipers painted with a high heat paint. Also went to the brake shop and had a new line bent for free. Can’t beat that!

I was able to get the driver side together so there really isn’t much left. I work the next couple of days and have the weekend off so we’ll see what I can get done.

New brake line fits like a glove

Also got the small clips painted that hold the wire for the ABS.

The dust shields were the biggest pain in the ass besides the LCA’s to clean up

Well got some work done today on the truck. We were able to get the calipers bolted up to the knuckles. I have a small leak from the new brake line where it connects to the new hose so I have to have that taken care of.

Ordered my new Magnaflow downpipe with catalytic converters on Friday. Have to pick up an OEM muffler and new O2 sensors this week and it will be one less thing to worry about. New tires next week and should be good to go for awhile. The camber and toe need to be adjusted bad, but it looks decent.
