I'm looking for some AFFORDABLE Headers, I'd really like some that have a coating of some type but they won't be on forever so I don't really care, I'd like them to be long tubes since they favor torque but would settle for mids or shorty, I need them to be affordable!! like $200 MAX. I have searched a bit but wanted opinions on headers, like is pace setter reputable and stuff like that. Thanks

I would try and ***** out a good used set. The flange is the biggy, inferior products are just that and lead to noting but issues. I just put a set of gibsons on and they installed perfectly and the flange is very thick, costly however... if you get a used set you could spray them with that ceramic coating they sell ? might not be a bad option, point im making is a good quality used set might give you less headaches than a no brand cheaper set

I'm seeing some Hedmans for about 230. I haven't looked that deep however. BUt Hedman used to be a good name back in the day.

I use Hooker long tubes. The coated ones are a little more pricey, but the plain steel ones are around $200 and hi temp paint is pretty cheap.

This part number is what I used: HOK-2462HKR. The set I have is nice, just likes to rub the mechanical shift linkage for the 4l60. Then again I don't know if they fit with the Vortecs.

I have added up all performance parts I wanted to get and discovered I would e around 5K to do it all. So I think I may just spend a little more on headers and exhaust, for now, I think I will build a 400 for the truck.

I think you can get the Hedman 69440 that's meant for the 87-95 TBI Engine and be okay. I picked mine up for $181 new at Summit. Someone who knows headers/manifolds better could probably educate me on the main difference in headers, but I assume it's just EGR and other ports (which I don't need any extra ports for mine so).

The only emissions I care to keep is PCV, pretty much because it keeps the crankcase happier. I thought shorty headers made more power up top and long made more power down low come find it the other way. So Gibson shortys here I come.
