I ordered up some fresh ball joints and grease-able U-Joints to start the rebuild.
  • 2x Upper, ACDelco 46D0048A
  • 2x Lower, ACDelco 46D2181A
  • 2x MOOG 374 U-Joints

Once I crack everything open I suspect I'm going to need bearings and seals as well. Working on the heavy duty stuff is still new to me so before I spend the cash I need to take a look at the items in person to understand what I'm looking at. Pictures to come this weekend

Both knuckles have been removed. Balljoints pressed out. Axle shafts pulled.

I boxed up the passenger side knuckle so that I can ship it out tomorrow to Four Wheel Supply to be milled for cross over steering. If it ends up being top quality work then i'll send out the driver side for high steer at a later date. https://www.fourwheelsupply.net/pro...0-knuckle-machining-for-high-steer-super-duty

I got my tracking number for the ORD SAS kit. It’s arriving next week. I was just going to throw multiple coats of POR 15 on it using their prep process then top coat it with some tractor supply implement paint. Anyone have any recommendations?

ORD is the best fab store ever. I used duplicolor rust tough enamel for my top coat, it’s durable and dries super fast. One or two cans will give you a few coats on the axle and parts. If you want implement paint they have rustolium stuff in a can that’s pretty good. If your not extremely worried about the look there is really no need to sand the por15 surface before topcoat. If your doing 3 coats of por 15 give it a day or two to cure before topcoating.
