Hey guys, I'm having trouble with my key fob. My electronic door locks work strong from the switches inside the vehicle but my key fob signal is weak. I have to be close and sometimes it takes a few presses to activate. The fob works more consistently from inside the vehicle. When the signal from the fob reaches the transmitter the locks sound strong when the actuators finally activate.

I've switched my key fob battery. Is there anything else I should try before I try to replace the system? Is an OEM replacement transmitter acceptable or is there an aftermarket system (i.e. Viper) that is worth wiring in?

Thanks.

Mine only works if I'm standing right beside the truck and sometimes it takes several presses. Fresh batteries and all. I chalk it up to the system being 23 years old. I don't need to unlock my truck from 100 yards away anyway, so it does not bother me.
