The reason I don't want air bags is that it's a older 1500 I don't need the capacity of the air bags An when I flex I don't want to rip a bag

I like my factory soft ride is the reason I don't want the heavier pack

Then you want airbags because that upper will slap quite a bit, worse on yours because you have fewer main leaves to keep it off said overload.

Without a decent amount of weight in the bed. The overload slap ride is
worse than heavier springs. And as mentioned earlier, your 1500 springs will bring the overloads into play long before a 3500 would. And when it does engage you will loose a lot of flex.

You could mount the engagement bracket a bit higher I suppose. But then the overload would not engage until a lot more squat.

Frames are totally different. Im pretty sure that there was never a factory overload spring on a 1500 truck. So the holes shouldn't be any holes and from what I remember there are none on mine. Drill them and the brackets probably wont fit the same. Might be able to get it to work though.

I would look at the 1 ton Express vans. They have an overload leaf built into the bottem of the spring pack. No need for a separate mount. Just add the bottem leaf and go. My 2006 Ram and 2012 as well as 2014 Titan had the same overload leaf setup from the factory. It works very well as the leaf only makes contact when the vehicle has alot of weight added in the rear.

All trucks have lower overloads too.
