Is a 2000 stall pretty good for the street? that's what they suggest for the two Como cams that I like.

New here but not to the L31s.

Best bang for the buck is the factory 4.3 S10 converter for your year 4L60E.

Had one in my Express van. My brothers F-car LT1 cammed 99 Suburban had one.

My 1999 cammed L30 305 Tahoe has one.

They stall 2,200 rpm behind the 4.3. Behind a 350 they stall 2,700-2,800 rpm when you are on it but drive nearly stock at light throttle.

The 4.3 stall was PERFECT in the Suburban with the LT1 cam and 3.73 gears. No flat spots at all, it jumped right up into the powerband and took off.

The Marine L31 cam also has a noticeable idle chop compared to the stock cam. Untuned it threw P0300 misfire codes. For that matter the LT1 F-car cam did as well. I had to loosen the misfire tables up to 20% to allow more time between firing events in the idle/lower rpm ranges to keep the light off.

This is what the 395' cam sounds like at stock idle speed with some idle tuning already done. 906s with 2.02/1.60 valves, 1.7 rockers, thorley tri'ys, factory dual 3" exhaust with thunderbolt 3" cats to the walker dynomax bus muffler and 3.5" tail pipe. L31 marine intake with ab 80mm BBK throttle body and 24x setup.

It is in a heavy 1500 Express conversion van.

4L85E with a stock 4.3 van converter, 9.5" 3.73 rear and 31.5" tall P305/50R20s at the time.
