I know I'm probably asking for fitment hell and lots of issues, but I'm genuinely curious if anyone has tried these headers out.

I'm looking for an inexpensive header to pair with a true dual exhaust while I build my truck up over the next few months. Exhaust is always a must for me (after basic maintenance of course), so these seem like they would be a great cost efficient product to run while I do everything else to my truck. I don't plan to have these headers installed for longer than 8 to 12 months, because at the end of the year/beginning of next year I'll be doing a carb'd Vortec swap on my top end, which will require new headers. But it'd be nice for a full length setup in the meantime. :p

Honestly i would just save up for better headers if you know you're going to do it later. No sense in doing things twice. That way you have what you want the first time.

But to answer your question, those headers look cheap to me, like real cheap. A decent pair of similar shorties would cost 1.5x as much. Feel like you would just be chasing exhaust leaks and making it harder on yourself.

Not only fitment hell but gasket hell also. Those look like maybe 1/4” thick where it bolts to the head so it will probably warp as soon as they heat up (if theyre even flat to start with). Theyd make a good header for a mud truck or something but probably not for a dd

Good point guys, I'll probably just run the stock manifolds and tweak the exhaust beyond that. Definitely going to pick up some good full length headers once the Vortec swap is done.

1.5 inch primaries are kind of small unless its going to be a low performance engine or a tow vehicle.

I'd honestly be happy with a 300whp engine. I could probably squeeze it out of the TBI system but I just don't like the whole "chip burning, send off your PCM" blah blah blah. I'd rather have a tune on the spot Carburetor setup.

I am looking for headers myself. It looks like 1 1/2" or 1 5/8" primary tubes and shorty headers are what I am after. Shorty headers focus more on low rpm torque and hp while long tubes are better for high rpm. It is going to be the most expensive set of headers that I've ever bought since I have pretty well talked myself into ceramic coated. Anyone care to comment on Gibson versus Flowtech or JBA?

I bought the posted jegs ones for my k5. The headers were touching the oil filter, not a 90 deg angle filter like the 400's and touched the starter heat shield. The paint is not high temp and will burn off when the engine starts and the collectors are flat plates and not ball sockets. I did have to bend the tubes out of the way and modified the starter heat shield. The tubes were also too close for comfort for the starter wiring from the top side down. I ended up cutting the flanges on each side at the head so each tube could float and not have to worry about warping. They work now that they are on but i was frustrated and overwhelmed with it. I called jegs about it and they said "modification is required" and apparently that includes starter and oil filter.

That's pretty much what I figured would be the issue with them. I'll probably just pay the extra $70 and run Hedman full lengths instead.
