    1993 C2500 Suburban 454

Forgive the info that I know GMT400 owners already know. I'm cross-posting to a few forums I'm on. Best to email since I'm not on here much. [email protected]. This truck has more new parts than any sane person should ever drop into a vehicle that isn't some sort of show car. And there's...

    '93 454 TBI in California...

Bump the timing up to 6-8 degrees BTDC. That was the most notable power upgrade to my 93 TBI 454. Not technically smog legal since CA will check your timing when you smog it, but it takes just a couple of minutes to readjust it back. Mike

OBS Camber/Caster Knock-outs - how to tell if you have them.

I have the knockout tool. It did a nice job with it. Whether it's worth it versus knocking them out with a punch, dunno, but I didn't have to clean up any rough edges. It's obviously a one-time use thing (unless I get another truck), so if anyone wants it, shoot me a PM. Mike

Delphi TBI distributor discontinued(?). What's next best option?

Huh. Might explain why Summit made me click a bunch of buttons assuring this was off-road use only (thanks, CA). Maybe I'll throw it in if/when I throw in their coil and some new plugs. Thanks for the info! Mike

Delphi TBI distributor discontinued(?). What's next best option?

Aha! I figured it out! So, when the mechanic broke the vacuum line, he didn't just replace the line from the solenoid to the valve. He also replaced the line from the TBI to the solenoid. Problem is, he swapped the lines at the solenoid! Minor goof, I guess, but the diagram is right on the air...

Delphi TBI distributor discontinued(?). What's next best option?

***UPDATE*** Vehicle is back from the mechanic. DUI distributor is in. I went ahead and swapped the Delco ICM onto it before he installed it since the only minor gripes I could find on the DUI was in regards to premature ICM failure (seems like these trucks really only like Delco ICMs). And...

Delphi TBI distributor discontinued(?). What's next best option?

I found that one, but also found it listed on Amazon here: ACDelco 19179575 GM Original Equipment Ignition Distributor, Remanufactured https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001S34JP0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_NCXsEbD7Y0YX8 That poor of reviews, to me, says "steer clear". FWIW, I fired off the parts cannon...

Delphi TBI distributor discontinued(?). What's next best option?

Yeah, but the problem is that Jegs' website states that it ships from the manufacturer. In talking to Delphi, they don't have these anymore. That's the problem I've had with all the sources I try; they all say they have some but then they don't. Mike

Delphi TBI distributor discontinued(?). What's next best option?

It looks just like the distributor off my TBI, but the ICM PN is slightly different. Wondering if I could buy it, swap ICMs with the Delco that's on the truck now, and run it? Or go with the DUI, which looks like it gets great reviews everywhere. Just a bit concerned that they want me to also...

Delphi TBI distributor discontinued(?). What's next best option?

Well, I guess this is where I sheepishly admit that, while I have a nice 1320electronics scan tool and both ALDL Scan Tool and ALDLDroid loaded on my phone, I only understand a fraction of the info it tells me. I know knock count is basically none at stock timing, none at 8 degrees BTDC if...

Delphi TBI distributor discontinued(?). What's next best option?

I've been trying to source a Delphi CZ20001 for my 93 Suburban 2500 (454) for a couple of weeks now. Every place I try cancels the order. I finally called Delphi and they said it's no longer available and don't have a replacement option. All the aftermarket options out there have horrible...

adding bluetooth to the factory radio?

Why not just use a basic FM transmitter-style BT unit? I have one in my other car that cost maybe $15 on Amazon. It plugs into the cigarette lighter and it’s also a USB adapter so win-win. Sounds great and works just fine. Mike

    Warrantys?????

For a truck that ceased production in the late 90s? Is that a thing? Mike

Aux. radiator fan barely turns ???

My vote would be for the jump pack method, too. Mike
