    88-90 Instrument Cluster A/T & M/T Differences?

Hello, beside the gear selector window, are there any other differences in instrument clusters? My speedometer works most of the time but sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't I smack the top of the dash and it starts working again. It's tough to find a M/T instrument cluster for my 1990...

5 speed Manual normal duty shifter question

You're not going to find a threaded rod with proper threads. Not sure what the exact size is but it's fine thread, and hardened. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    Busted Fuel Line

Just did this all this summer. Bought pre bent fuel lines from the throttle body back to the fuel tank for my 1990 C1500. Then bought pre bent stainless steel brakelines from the master cylinder back to the wheels. Replaced the fuel tank, fuel pump, sending unit and fuel filler as the vent had...

i did use the search bar first..

The location of the shifter on the S10 is located towards the rear where on 1/2 ton & 3/4 ton applications the shifter is located more towards the middle of the transmission. Take a look at a few pictures I took of my recent rebuild of a NV3500 I did for my 90 C1500...

    1990 C1500 5 Speed For Sale

Posted this today: http://madison.craigslist.org/pts/5725358783.html Looks like a decent core to go through. It worked when I removed it, just had a whine and was leaking fluid out the input shaft. Believe I removed it before an input shaft bearing spun so the input shaft should be in good...

    2nd and 4th gear noise

Correct fluid level is when fluid runs out the fill hole while the truck is on a level surface. Mine will take just a hair over two quarts before running out the fill hole. That being siad, will an extra quarter of a quart cause issues? No idea. What does 2nd and 4th gear have in common...

    NV3500 compatibility

Starting in 1996 the slave cylinder was located internally around the input shaft. So you would need a NV3500 from a 96 on up for a bolt in replacement. From what I've seen it's easier to find a 96 on up with a internal slave than a 93-95 version with a external slave.

    1994 NV3500 Rebuild

Yes, the specific year. If the shifter location is all the way in the back of the tail shaft it is my understanding that's for an S10. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    1994 NV3500 Rebuild

J36515 is the basic pallet part number. Depending on the year transmission, there will be different adapters that will be needed. The adapters are to adjust height of each shaft assembly so they fit together well. The Unit Repair manual for your year will provide the proper part numbers as...

    1994 NV3500 Rebuild

Had time to finish it up earlier in the week. Updated the photos on the Photobucket link as well. My goal was not to give a step by step instruction, but instead show answers for questions I had that wasn't covered by manuals or online resources.

    1994 NV3500 Rebuild

Just a few pictures of the last few weeks of me going through the 1994 NV3500 I bought for $100 to replace the original one in my 1990 C1500 with 220K miles on it. Each image has a little write up that includes information that I couldn't find online or in factory manuals. Also, I'd suggest...

    What transmission do i have?

Follow the below link to my Photobucket. Right now I'm going through a 1994 NV3500 5 speed to replace the original one in my 1990 C1500 with 220K miles on it. Picked up the 94 NV3500 for $100 off of Craigslist this winter. Click on each picture as I've written information not found on forums...
