88-90 Instrument Cluster A/T & M/T Differences?
Hello, beside the gear selector window, are there any other differences in instrument clusters? My speedometer works most of the time but sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't I smack the top of the dash and it starts working again. It's tough to find a M/T instrument cluster for my 1990...- WeirdTim

Busted Fuel Line
Just did this all this summer. Bought pre bent fuel lines from the throttle body back to the fuel tank for my 1990 C1500. The location of the shifter on the S10 is located towards the rear where on 1/2 ton & 3/4 ton applications the shifter is located more towards the middle of the transmission. Take a look at a few pictures I took of my recent rebuild of a NV3500 I did for my 90 C1500...- WeirdTim

2nd and 4th gear noise
Correct fluid level is when fluid runs out the fill hole while the truck is on a level surface. Mine will take just a hair over two quarts before running out the fill hole. That being siad, will an extra quarter of a quart cause issues? No idea. What does 2nd and 4th gear have in common...- WeirdTim

NV3500 compatibility
Starting in 1996 the slave cylinder was located internally around the input shaft. So you would need a NV3500 from a 96 on up for a bolt in replacement. From what I've seen it's easier to find a 96 on up with a internal slave than a 93-95 version with a external slave.- WeirdTim

J36515 is the basic pallet part number. Depending on the year transmission, there will be different adapters that will be needed.
