Am i the only one that look at the headlights on the newer trucks and think with a modified grille, they may fit or fenders etc? I mean if they could fill in properly, they'd be worth making a custom grille for... The style would fit our trucks. Really the k2xx trucks are a retro throwback on...
295/75R22.5s or 255/70R22.5s?
Both are technically too big for this truck but they've both been done on pickups... cut and fab will be needed if I don't want to lift...
Just thinking now. Still no time for it. House ain't done but my note pad is filling up...
I'm sure is a robust rear end. I didn't mean it like it won't hold. I just meant it as in if something where to fail under stress, that would be my bet. I didn't think about universals but I'm 99%sure I will need an all new driveshaft so if I were to have one built, a more stout setup would be...
I searched and searched and searched to find that tranny... I only came across it because I wanted a doubler overdrive but a granny gear and bam, 7 speed tremec popped up. Seems to have the right gear ratios....
Honestly, I think the Dana 80 will be the weakest point in the drivetrain... maybe...
Guaranteed!!! I haven't measured it but the number I've been told is it's about 9 inches longer than a 12v cummins... which barely fits... dog house if I need to haha. And supposedly it's 4 to 5 inches taller... maybe it'll fit bought wise... he'll I need to build engine mounts either way right!?
I'm hoping this one doesn't. Like I said, tremec is notorious for their heavy duty car transmissions... they shift like a hot knife in butter and hold up to anything. So with any luck, their commercial trans are good. If it's half as quiet and serves its purpose, I'll be happy.
But it's ideal...
Excellent point. The noise doesn't typically bother me after the long tube to straight pipe duels on the 454... and that straight 6 duramax is an extremely quit diesel. The tranny I know nothing about but tremec is known for building an extremely strong tranny with extremely easy shifting...
I'm not ready to give up on my "Napoleon syndrome" massive engine idea yet...
UPDATE: just got off the horn and located the isuzu 6hk1 aka duramax 7800. It's probably not a high torque version but it's a running ready to go engine for under 2k locally... with this savings, I would like to...
