    O2 Sensor? 1989 C2500 5.7

Thanks for the update! I will try that. I have not found it yet. Could you please clarify, there are two wires going to the O2 sensor, one black and one purple? Do they both come out of the same spot in the harness? I need to takes some photos. I am 63 and recovering from shoulder surgery so...

    O2 Sensor? 1989 C2500 5.7

BTW, what / how is fuel trim accomplished? Based on prior experiences I have to assume that everything that can be manually adjusted is misadjusted.

    O2 Sensor? 1989 C2500 5.7

Sound advice, thanks. I wanted to check the timing, but cannot find the marks anywhere. If it’s a bolt on degree scale It is long gone. As I can’t find it. I wonder how often the TBI injectors go bad. I have a new Holley tbi unit I bought at a swap meet 10+ years ago but have not been able...

    C2500 Camper Special

Looks like you have one of similar vintage. Does it have an O2 sensor? Can you send me a photo of where the O2 sensor lead connects to the harness?

Could be I suppose. But it’s dumping so much fuel it might be washing the cylinder walls clean anyway. Need to cure the Rich running problem first I think. I posted a thread to the motor sub for him looking for help in tracking down what I believe is a missing O2 sensor.

    C2500 Camper Special

The odometer broke 10 to 20 years ago at 161K. It’s all original. Have to add a quart of oil for every hour of highway Drive. But it starts every time and runs regardless of outside temperature. It was burning a ton of oil but I replaced the valve seals and that clean things up a bit but it...

    O2 Sensor? 1989 C2500 5.7

Hi All, My 89 C2500 is running silly rich. It smells bad and I get buildup on the plugs somewhat regularly fouling one.. My first guess is the ECU is in some kind of a limp mode as the PO apparently eliminated the O2 sensor. At least I think this truck had an O2 sensor, I am not entirely...

    C2500 Camper Special

Hi All, Newbie here. About 5 years ago I rescued a 1989 Cheyenne C2500 5.7 Camper Special from oblivion. I have refurbished it with the usual parts over time but the motor is tired. Probably has 300k on it. i am a minor owner of a small machine shop and use it for customer deliveries cause...
