1/2 ton to 1 ton?

My daily driver is a 94 shortbed stepside with 2500 leafs in rear! Rides much better than the 95 with 3500 bars stock 3500 leafs. The motor in the 94 is the heavier late 70's 350 4 bolt I built with vortec heads and Aftermarket TunePort.

Rides like a rock! Going to 1/2 ton leafs and airbags in rear. Probably front torsion bars also. Have only just completed the swap. Still have to install rear bumper and hitch. 6 month project but sent the frame out for sand blasting. Firewall rot repair at lower lip. Body shop took a month on...

Go with the 1 ton Chassis and Suspension! Well worth it having the thicker frame. Shortened 14" in the wheel base and 4 1/2" at the tail. You Must use a rear cab and bed mount bracket or make your own! Shortened Drive Shaft. You already use it!
