Do any of the 4" - 6" lift kits give you any extra suspension travel in the front over stock? or are the lift kits just for more ground clearance? wondering what kind of performance increase if any you get from these lift kits like the rough country.
You guys around here dont get enough credit for helping people out. I really appreciate the time yall have put into this and i hope this thread helps others out.
going up a long a grade with the engine trying to hold about 70mph at 30-40% throttle i am still getting Cylinder 4 misfires and cylinder 3
However as previously stated the cylinder 4 misfire counts are down significantly, previously under the above circumstance id log about 500-1000 misfires...
Good news update frens, the broken fan was the primary source of my rough idle. I replaced the fan with a new one like the picture above with the 11 blades and the engine no longer shakes like it did before. its not a smooth as brand new but it definitely doesn't move like it did before.
kind...
its the second one with the plastic blades. I have no idea how long its been missing but i cant believe after all the work ive done to the truck in the last months i just now noticed it.
i flushed the coolant a few months ago, and did it again when i replaced the radiator and all the hoses. I will replace the water pump and clutch soon though. I am very curious if one missinng blade can cause the king of engine shake im feeling.
Update, replaced my radiator due to a leak and in the process noticed my radiator fan blade assembly has a broken blade missing. I think this is what's causing the engine vibration at idle. Going to replace asap and report back. Hopefully i didnt mess my bearings driving it like this for so long
Just did this job over the course of last week, i initially bought pins and bushings from amazon but ended up buying the Cunningham ones after all. More expensive for sure but i didnt want to have to deal with this again. Make sure your door latch asssembly isnt messed up too before you put...
Looking for factory stereo for my suburban. I don’t know what units fit in which years but I just want to put the factory one in and take the aftermarket one out. It can be cassette or cd I have no preference
Been awhile since an update so i thought id let yall know i replaced the harmonic balancer, crankshaft pulley and the seal. The old harmonic balancer looked decent the rubber was intact and had some small cracks but nothing that popped out. Truck still idles the same. Best way to describe it is...
checked balancer at idle with belt off and pulley off seems fine. the rubber looks old but not separated
I spent time really watching my scanner at idle and I was able to hammer down the misfiring cylinders at work this morning its 1,3,4 - 4 being the highest of counts
truck definitely idles...
when i was recently removing a flathead screwdriver tip that was broken off into my clyinder, i was turning the engine clockwise and counter clockwise to fish out the piece. when i was turning clockwise it loosed the bolt on the crankshaft pully and i tightened it right away but only so much...
