Yea I figured I could hit the junkyard but it was just more convenient to buy a new one. My local yard gets hit FAST. Most 99-06 are stripped by the first week. If u could do the same thing I did and it works for u for $12 I say hell yea
So I know this maybe an old topic but I hope this will help people who haven’t heard of the swap. Anyways, for those who haven’t, DO IT. It’s literally night and day. I used to have to push the old spongy brakes to the floor and it took forever to stop. Now it is a lot more firm and brakes with...

So I plan to do a LS swap in the near future on my 97 k1500 it has the 5.7L vortec in it now with a 4l60e. Where I am u can get a somewhat low mile 5.3 with harness and ecu for a little under 1000. I have a pretty good understanding of how to make the swap work physically and mechanically but...
I changed the crank sensor cuz it shot a code before the issue it’s pretty much unrelated. I changed spark plugs and wires after the issue and it’s still doin it and it’s a generic code I can’t pull up misfire history
97 Chevy 1500 5.7 vortec 250k miles. The other day I started it and it has a rough idle and backfire at idle or low rpm drives pretty good but not 100% recently changed plugs and wires and fuel filter 2 new batteries new crank sensor. Started shooting single po300 code that said random/ multiple...
Check engine light came back on this time with only 1 code. P0300 random/ multiple misfire I’m stumped as to what that could be? I plan to change plugs wires and fuel filter because it probably needs it I’ll start the Monday
I have a 97 k1500 5.7 vortec. Recently it started havin a miss and backfire at Idle and low rpm. Soon as I drive it goes away or isn’t as noticeable. Engine light is on for o2 sensor has been on for a while before it started. I’m thinking spark plugs and wires May be the cause any other opinions?
