it ended up being a cap despite being new on a damp night it rusted and was obviously just a cheap part

98 5.7 vortec crank no start

leaving work this morning I started my truck and it did not run very well seemed like a misfire I revved the truck up a bit and it just died down and shut off then it would not start The cap and rotor have been replaced the truck is sending lots of fuel to the plugs wet as hell when i pulled...

1996 4.3 to 5.7 swap carb'd

I took out my 4.3 and put a 5.7 vortec in needed to buy new motor mounts and got a pcm at the wreckers just make sure it's out of an auto 5.7 I used the same wiring harness and just looked up the pinout diagram and ran two more wires for the extra two injectors had to do a relearn on the...

slave cylinder poor design

truck is a 1998 k1500 4x4 5.7 swapped 5 speed. so about 3 years ago I replaced my entire clutch system as my truck had a ton of kms on it so I figured while my leaky slave was being done I would do the whole thing now 3 years later my slave is leaking again I really hate this slave cylinder as...

Clutch pedal pin

I broke mine and ended up drilling out all the plastic and using a bolt and some washers through the top I couldn't handle the 285 the dealer wanted for a clutch pedal

Can't Find Antifreeze Leak

just did this job 2 weeks ago was super simple got the felpro kit came with More than I needed make sure you use some penetrating oil on the egr when you take it out I twisted mine off and it's a 300$ little tube so unless you want to spend time building a new one or deleting it out be careful...

5 speed in 98 1500 with 350 vortec ECU check engine light issue

like I said Im not looking to get it tuned Im just looking to trick the computer as they didnt make a 98 with a manual transmission and a 350 vortec the dealer is no help and the guy here in town wants 350$

5 speed in 98 1500 with 350 vortec ECU check engine light issue

so long story short I have a 98 chevy 1500 with a 4.3litre and a 5 speed. once the 4.3 blew up I decided to get a 5.7 vortec and put it in with some wiring for injectors and a ecu from a 5.7 truck I did a relearn and the truck fired up and ran great for 3 months I live in British columbia...
