Fuel economy issues!?

No mil and it works. Power is not what it is of any other truck I have owned gmt400 wise. Plugs look fine. I changed them a year ago and 3 months ago they appear a tad rich but nothing to concern. Idle quality is fair about constant with gmt400s they never have had a perfect smooth idle. Atleast...

Who knows. There are no converters so I doubt it has any. A year ago it was giving wrong economy and it still is except worse. Its not a ground. Please get out of my thread. You are not offering any one any help except bad info

I doubt my truck even processes rear o2s for trim. I know everything needed about fuel trim. Figured it was rear some where.

If rear o2s control fuel mixture that could be the problem. Mine are missing. But the tuner turned rear o2 sensors off. There is no activity with a set plugged in. Do you have any data showing rear o2 sensors control fuel mix? Never in my life have I heard that. There is so many people out there...

Fuel economy issues!?

Gives same mileage with a stock maf. I have compared maf freq with another one of my gmt400s and close is close enough. I have run descreened mafs on 57 gmt400s no problems so far. Something is just off with this truck.

Truck is tuned for the ported maf,lower temp thermostat. I am a profession mechanic. Its not brakes or grounds. It has no converters and tuned for no converters. Tires again not going to cause this. 7 months ago same tires it was giving 8 mpg. Still way low but now 6. Nothing has changed. I have...

The Stupid Engine Questions Thread

My 98 Yukon is using toooo much fuel. 6mpg.. No codes all the live data looks good compared to a good running loaner truck. Thinking poppets are hanging. Is there a way to test? Can anyone tell me they have had this problem and what fixed it?
