Truck is an ECSB purchased from original owner. Just under 200k on the clock. Motor has 60k on the rebuild trans has less than 30k on it's rebuild. Body is perfect. Interior is even nicer. I've done a few things like overhead console, roof marker lights, eBay headlights and taillights. Swapped...
So I started out wanting to lower my newly aqquired 94 ECSB. After some serious thought and putting in the fact that I drive way to much for an impractical truck I decided to go up instead of down. Living in SoCal the logical choice for a 2wd truck was Prerunner. That turned out to be harder...
So I've exhausted my search and have only found 2 sets of upper control arms for a lifted 2wd obs and both are well over $700. The rough country set is for 6 lug only. If I read it correctly the 6 lug spindle uses a larger ball joint in the UCA and is not compatible with 1/2 ton. I've seen all...
Scored a nice OHC today from the pick and pull for 13 bucks. Pulled it from a 96 burb with matching interior. Wanted to grab the buckets as well since they were in fantastic shape but didn't bring enough money. Hopefully they're there when I go back this weekend.
Just out of curiosity because I...
It's called a drop coat. You do it while your second coat is still wet. Guess i should have given a bit more detail. Most people spray metallics and pearls too wet and they mottle or bunch up in the wetter areas. This happens especially around edges or in jams and corners where you tend to...
Bored on my day off and just couldn't wait any longer I decided to take the tailgate in the booth and spray it to see how my two tone color combo looked. Solid color is the original Autunmwood dark brown. Center two tone is a GM beige for the 80s that was pretty much on everything for a solid...
Easy trick for metallics is throw a little extra reducer in your last coat and cut your pressure down to half of what you sprayed the first 2 coats at. Then back off what your spraying a few more inches. It helps to evenly disburse the metallics. This is especially good for edges and corners...
Just picked up a 94 c1500 ECSB. Starting to gather parts now. 5/7 drop coming. Still trying to decide on wheels. I'm a custom painter so I've already begun the prep process. Tailgate latch just relocated last week and tail gate welded and smoothed. Should be a fun project. 197k on the chassis...
Plans for the truck
Paint: two tone with original brown with a splash of gold pearl thrown in and GM beige for the center section.
Engine: probably not much as California has ridiculous emmision laws so even a header is hard to get.
Wheels: haven't really decided yet but I know for sure...
