    Vin location

So, doing more work on my project this weekend, I found another location. Passenger frame rail again, top side, under the bed, directly over the factory axle bump stop. Didn't grab a picture or anything. Same 9 characters.

Oh, on your truck, with the cab on! I don't think so, not enough gap between the cab and frame I don't think. Might be able to get a mirror in there and reflect it for a photo?

    Vin location

Do you mean high enough so that it gives better reference to the exact location? I could do that, but maybe this picture gives some context. You can see my cut lines drawn, and the upside down "U" shaped grinder marks where the cab mount was removed, and where the bed mount was removed behind...

    Vin location

It's just a 94 C1500 long bed. I don't have it in front of me at the moment, but I believe it's just the last 6 digits and the three preceeding letters of the VIN. So, the last nine digits/letters of the VIN is all that is stamped there. The frame was cut, but, everything that was there of the...

Where can i find stamped VIN number on frame on 1990 K1500?

On my 1994, single cab, 2wd, long bed, I found the VIN stamped on my frame. It is on the top of the passenger frame rail, below the cab, near the rear cab mount, behind where the lip of the rail "flair" ends and goes back to a normal c-channel shape. Will be a little difficult to find/see with...

Long bed to short bed conversion with pics

This is similar to how I decided to do mine as well. Now you have me wishing I would have looked at doing it where the front clip is already welded on too. It's a LOT of work on these trucks no matter which way you go about it, plenty of room for error that could result in bad suspension and/or...

    Engine off center

Yep. I found it this weekend stabbing an L86 in my '94 for the first time. I made motor mounts myself and thought I had really messed up the jig I made off the original 5.7 for a minute. Then I noticed the offset was built into the frame. Then I considered centering it because it would really...
