Apparently on the tbi's this connector is back on the passenger side near the distributor. On the vortec at least the 350s it is near the front and easy to get to.
I think I got mine out with lisle tool. Or atleast enough out that I was able to thread a new one in. Seems good and tight...
Thanks for the response. I actually put an order in for the lisle separate tool. I didn't know that used to be a kit. Fingers crossed there is still enough meat to get a bite on.
Hey guys I had a weird leak dripping down the back of my engine. I feared it was a freeze plug in the back then i thought it was maybe the intake gaskets, so I rented a pressure tester and was relieved to find it was the stupid quick disconnect coolant connector on the rear of my intake...
I have the same truck as above 2000 sbcc with a 350 that I used for my guinea pig. It seems fine on e88. All though I did have a fuel pump problem that turned out to be a bad ground at the fuel pump, now I can't get rid of this lean code. But I've been running e88 for years in all my vehicles...
My rear lines did not want to bust loose. Might just try and flush the best I can what I can and then if this compressor goes again just plan on replacing the complete system. How hard is it to put a sanden compressor in? Which compressor is the r4? Is that the pancake one? That's on pre...
Nice thing is, haven't ran this compressor yet. Just installed it in the fall with the factory plug threaded in and the electric clutch unplugged. I get the gunk has to be the compressor, but they all still held pressure and turned reasonably easy. So I didn't think the compressors failed...
well that's one of my problems, double of some stuff is great dual orifice tube is probably not one of them. The one that enjoyed its stay and didn't want to come out was in the condenser. The one on the left I replaced probably after the original compressor bearing went.
It was black gunk. I'd love to replace everything in this suburban system but I don't really enjoy pulling the dash. That makes sense with the gauges. Wonder how I started thinking that backwards lol
Yeah I ordered a new condenser, variable orifice tube and a standard fixed one. I haven't been eating compressors so to say more just the clutch bearing. Last one I tried to just replace the clutch bearing but on my 2 practice compressors I tried the tool on didn't have a nut holding the...
Also, the AC worked in the burb, but not very great. Now I need to take that Y apart and replace that OT. What happened is for some reason this burb eats ac comp bearings. I think I am on my third compressor in 6 years beacuse the bearing coming apart and making a howling sound. I put the new...
Wow lots of great responses. Yes I literally pulled a nasty orifice tube out of the condenser, but the bad thing is, is I might have been the one to put it there when I replaced the condenser! I am probably going to buy a new condenser and just a stock I suppose OT. I just didnt know if any one...
Is a fixed orifice tube the best replacement for a 95 suburban with rear air? I read that the variable orifice tube wont work with the rear expansion valve. I need to order one and want to get the coolest air I can. Also did not know about the ford tubes. Would those be better? My orifice tube...
