    Wow.. that battery was less than a year old. But it was indeed faulty. Warranty covered a new one and all is good!! Sorry I feel like an idiot I need a legit battery tester. Still has a slight stop/hesitation when cranking right before it fires though?

    If I jump it I can eventually get it to start and run. The alternator does charge.

    That’s 9v with the key on, if I pull the 40a fuse (ignition A) with the key on the voltage goes up to 10-11v

    As for the pre-ignition causing high compression, I unhooked the coil to the disty and the symptom remained.

    I sure hope it’s not hydro locking with coolant! Runs good once it starts and doesn’t blow a ton of steam out the exhaust

    I haven’t checked volts. But it will even do it when its warm out but the truck isn’t warmed up. Does the same thing with jumper cables hooked up to a running car. Although that helps a little bit, still slow hard crank.
