Well the weather finally let up. I got alot done including the under bed notch, drop shackles, took a inch off the front, installed some new front shocks, put the cal view mirrors on it, installed the bed back on it, sanded and rattle can primered it. Is there any tricks for getting these old front shocks out?????
Hmmmm i didnt think of heating it up. And yeah i used a ton of PB blaster and it did no good! Having to hold it with a pair of locking pliers and loosen that bolt is a joke. The passenger side is in a bad spot!!!!!!!!! I may have to take a cut off wheel to it if the heat dont do the trick.- mayberryterror

Is there any tricks for getting these old front shocks out?????
I just got done cuting half a coil to bring me down to 5" up front. Everything is buttoned back up except for them stupid @$$ shocks! I got the bottom 2 bolts off the lower control arm but the top bolts are stuck like chuck! I believe they are the stock shocks and that top stud is rusted bad...- mayberryterror

I'm quickly learning these gmt400 trucks are easy to come by on craigslist as parting out. Motor, tranny, and other odds and ends I don't think you'd break 600 bones if you can find someone parting out a truck on craigslist. He'll you may even find your lift kit that way too. Bench seat alternative's?
Mine is a 95 with the basic bench not split. The seat is nice minus the tear on the driver side from people getting in and out. 6/9 I thought that truck was 5/8? Not trying to be contradicting just been keeping up on your build thread. I'm a fan of the truck fo sho. Looks great but a flip kit with 2" drop shackles only brings you down 8". Needless to say that's a sic ride. Sent from my LG-P769 using Tapatalk- mayberryterror

I got a 4/6 belltech drop. I'm wanting to go 5/8. I already got 2" lowering shackles for the back. As far as the front goes how much do I need to cut off a belltech 2" drop spring to make it 3"? I know on the stock coils I need to cut a half coil for 1" of drop. Does the same rule apply for the...- mayberryterror

well I didn't get around to installing the drop shackles like I planed on. But I did put the brake booster on which was way easier than I expected. Just pushed the master cylinder forward, unbolted the booster, and popped that clip off the pedal rod. Way easy, probably a hour and a half job. I...- mayberryterror

Drop shackles
I ordered 1" to 2" drop shackles so I can go a total 8" out back. But when I measured the stock shackles it looks like they will move my leafs up 2" to 3". Could my truck have some lift shackles on it? Or did I measure it wrong? They are a perfect bolt up and look like they will clear my bed...- mayberryterror
