Does your Suburban have memory seats? If the Yukon had memory seats and your Suburban doesn't, the driver's seat won't work without wiring modification.

I got you all beat. Rebuilt the throttle body on my '89 Silverado and didn't realize that I left out a gasket. Installed it and went to start the truck and gas just poured into the engine. No big deal, I'll just pull the spark plugs and give the engine a short crank to push the gas out the spark...
I'm pretty sure the cloth panel attaches to the door panel with tabs or possibly clips. It's been a while since I detached mine. Here's a couple of pictures of the door panel without the cloth covered panel attached.
I actually bought one of the $4 light gray flannel throws from Walmart to use for my headliner. It's actually a fairly decent match. You could also go to a fabric store, some of them sell headliner material. If you are reusing your board and have some chunks of the fiber are missing from pulling...
