Dang. That's right. Thank you for correcting my error. It's just a engine speed sensor inside the dizzy. It sends a signal to the PCM once engine rpm reach 400 rpm's. -I just put salt in my coffee, lee- leegrady

97 chevy 5.0 vortec swap with 98 gmc suburban 5.7
1996 to 1998 GM truck 5.0's and 5.7's are the same engine schematics. All the connectors on the '97 5.0 should be the same as that on the '98 5.7. For every 10*f. you lower incoming air temp you gain appox. 1% increase in horsepower. For example today here in Minnesota it's 76*f. outside air temp. Say the under hood temp is a conservative 100*f. A difference of 24*f. equates to approx. a 5-6 hp. increase. -chillin' lee- leegrady
