Progress has been slowed a bit by life and cold wet weather in the Midwest. But, I am steadily working on tracing wires in the new center console and getting it ready for installation.
- Took apart as much as I dared to make these mods easier as well as the install.
- I changed out the stock...
Yes! I like them very much! I haven’t had the opportunity to drive them a lot yet as I’m still in rebuild mode. But they feel good so far.
I went back and fourth because ultimately I would have liked larger diameter wheels & tires. But, the wheels look great and I think will look even...
It wasn’t hard at all to mount the cases. I used blue tape to mark the 1” up for the brackets, marked the holes with the self tapping screws, predrilled to a smaller diameter, treated the screws to help with corrosion and attached them. I think I’m going to like them a lot!
Continued progress: I’m 90% done and only have 50% to go!
- Refurbished door panels installed.
- High Country seats installed and power hooked up. Still have to hook up the power to the ventilated heating/cooling.
- New sneakers installed and new smooth wheel center caps ordered. You can...
This thread is awesome! I’m just finishing my rebuild and have the same rims. Planning on polishing them up and going with these tires. Where did you get the new center caps? Thanks!
I think I remember that someone asked to see pictures of the “before“ and “after” on the 2” rear shackle drop. I’ll try to get some better pictures…but for now…here you go! I really like the difference stance. Now the wheel & tire decision. I’m leaning towards the Cooper Cobras that are...
There has been a lot of progress since my last post. Pushing extremely hard to get into a driveable condition so I can unload the garage and get it back to its intended use…not a repair shop.
Finishing up the interior transformation: New paint, installed the stereo, new speakers, updated...
I’ll try to remember to give a report after mine has been in service for a while. The install procedure was a bit tricky and would have been easier with one other person…but in all…not bad. Understanding the instructions was actually harder than doing the job. The inside maintenance hopefully...
Crossing my fingers for you. I had my front end looked at before I made the changes and they said it checked out fine. However, something could have been missed as it is an older vehicle...and “fine” could have meant ”fine for an older vehicle.”
Posting another udpate…things are moving along! The paint shop is done with the bumpers, bed & misc parts. I’m working very hard on getting the interior back in shape enough to get the rig over to them so they can make it a whole truck again.
Finishing up or adding the following...
Sorry to take so long to respond. It’s not figured out yet because the the truck had been in the paint shop and now tasking up all 3 bays of the garage getting things finished up. I approached Redhead directly about it a while back and they sent me some things to try…unfortunately the truck...
