    If you're doing this with aftermarket parts, your best bet is to just use what came with it, and not try to get fancy by cutting wires; take it from me that's the best way to screw stuff up, getting lost. You'll need to give us some more details and we can help you ... if you've not gone too...

    What motor oil are you running in your Vortec?

    I've run Harvest King from our local Rural King store for the past several years, in everything. A 5 qt. jug of conventional 5W-30 costs me $10, and I use the AC Delco filter. I change it every 5,000 miles and usually have to add a quart after about 2,500. All in all, for a '96, not bad.

    So I found a solid, one-owner '96 Sierra C1500 with the 4.3 and 4L60-E, and went to check it out yesterday. The truck has 225K on it but has obviously been pretty well maintained. It's an ECSB, which would be a nice addition for when I need to take the kids to school and the wife has the van...
