    92-94 454SS Cluster - Mexico/Canada option?

Looks like the APC faceplate on the gauges, sold everywhere until about after 2006, maybe a year or two later.

Correct no change. I swapped in the correct temp switch for gauge and it pegs past hot. This is also the 4th cluster to do this, so I know wherever I need to look is in my wiring somewhere.

So does anyone have an idea where to look for my problem. It’s electrical for sure, all three gauges oil, water, gas all peg past full/hot/max pressure (in accordance to gauge type). Fuel peg past full indicates short to ground. I’ve added a ground to the cluster grounding it to the bottom of...

Addiction is bad, or is it?

Still working on wiring fiascos. I went to another salvage yard and grabbed a brake light/ fuel pump harness that goes along the frame rail. I had to cut it out of the wrecked truck, because it had been rear ended so hard it folded the rear quarter of the frame in half, even with a receiver...

Addiction is bad, or is it?

Still slowly working on this rig, mostly paint at this point. Went to pick n pull and got myself a bumper w/o the ugly trim, it’s now wearing body color. Upon doing all the “lipstick on a pig” work, I’ve discovered every single corner of the fiberglass bed is cracked in some form or fashion...

    1 wire to 3 wire O2 Sensor

If I had a cat to cook, I’d understand, but it magically disappeared like my ex wife’s faithfulness. It’s the tbi rich smell I’ve smelled from every tbi truck I’ve seen.

    1 wire to 3 wire O2 Sensor

I replaced the whole exhaust because it did. New y pipe and all. Put the old sensor in, I’m thinking it’s been long gone for quite some time. Truck has over 330k miles.

    1 wire to 3 wire O2 Sensor

I’m going to do this conversion on my 89 4.3 c1500. The rich smell is excruciating, and it doesn’t do as well as I thought it would mpg wise being a stick shift and two wheel drive. The links on the first page are still valid and reasonably priced, I think $45 and $17 for the sensor and...

    OBS rear axle width

I can comment on the 4x4 portion of 10 bolt to SF 14 bolt. Same width, same shock spacing. NEED — ubolts (yours probably won’t survive disassembly), ubolt plates or brackets, whatever you call them. Ujoint- called a conversion joint or bast*rd joint if you get an old guy behind the parts...

    Wiper pulse board smokes

I appreciate the heads up. I did go ahead and grab up the junkyard column and under dash wiring harness to swap into mine, both same year, both Scottsdale trim level. The only difference between the junk truck and mine was two cylinders, junker being a 350, mine a 4.3. Both trucks were CD4...

    Muncie/Getrag transmission any good?

As long as you don’t put too much power through it (375 is a no no btw), you’ll be fine.

Scraped off most of the old delaminated tint on back glass. This is in preparation for new tint at some point in the future.

Addiction is bad, or is it?

I did this a couple weeks ago, but the conversion was relatively easy. The tach isn’t accurate, nor is the speedometer, I believe it’s set for 3.42’s and 265/75’s, and I have 3.73’s with 28.5”/29” tires, whatever 235/75 converts to. It reads 5 faster than actual travel speed. Disregard brake...

Addiction is bad, or is it?

The junkyard had another 89 c1500 with a 5 speed, so I grabbed up everything I could. So far I’ve grabbed up the engine harness, dash harness, column, clutch pedal (cause my son wants to convert his auto to manual). All that because, I’ve been chasing a wiring issue with the wipers, I made a...

    Wiper pulse board smokes

I’m sure the actual wiper switch is beyond useful. I did find burnt/ melted wires and, a couple jethro rigged jumpers to what I don’t know. There just happened to be another 89 c1500 in the junkyard with a good dash harness and manual column. So I went and grabbed up both parts today.
