I am putting a good, used (35K) older Vortec short block under my 1999 Tahoe's (062) heads and CFI injection and cannot seem to come up with a combination of pushrod/rocker arms that produce proper valve operation. something wierd in there on that ******* stepchild motor?
I have a ‘99 Tahoe with a 5.7 I would like to put headers on, but don’t want to spend a fortune. All listings change at ‘99! Is it because of that damn EGR tube? Earlier models fit if it is eliminated?

My Tahoe has the 4 oxygen sensor setup before and after the cats. On an off-road truck with no cats, anyway to reduce that number and still send the proper signals.

New member first post. stuck. Putting refreshed older 350 in place of my 1999 Vortech engine, Using my Vortech stuff from the short block up, but replacing the cam with a Mellings R/V-torque grind. Ordered a timing set like normal, but the top gear is wrong for the cam. bet it is for the later...
