    '95 TBI Misfire?

I've swapped the temperature sensor for a brand new one and it's made no difference to the problem. Cold start is OK (apart from it not wanting to start at all earlier in the week it's been fine since) Hot it runs OK. Until you shut it off for about 30 mins and then restarts. After that the...

    '95 TBI Misfire?

Where is the pressure test point on these motors? I do have a gauge... I had a prod around this weekend, rotor, leads and cap all look OK (and are only a few 1000 miles old). I ran it until hot and then restarted it and it was acting up. Injectors looked to be firing OK. I unplugged the idle...

    '95 TBI Misfire?

My truck's developed a bit of an issue and I was wondering if anyone has had something similar before? '95 K2500 5.7 TBI It starts and runs just fine when its cold and it's ok when it's hot too. No problems. But if I stop and leave it parked for 30 mins or so and then fire it back up it has a...

    LS Swapping my '95 Silverado (5.3 LM7)

Yes, only difference is the bore size. Crank is the same.

That's what I'm going to do. Already have a set of LS1 pistons and rods to fit. Just need to get the machining done. :)

    LS Swapping my '95 Silverado (5.3 LM7)

Washed the intake manifold out with some old fuel to clean all the old oil and gunk out of it. Then got the billet cable throttle fitted up. I gave the injectors a soak in my ultrasonic cleaner and they now look like new again. I'll refit them with new seals soon. I also got the crank removed...

I've been a little tied up with other projects, but I'll be back on this in a couple of weeks :)

    LS Swapping my '95 Silverado (5.3 LM7)

After inspecting the engine bores the pitting in 2 of the bores is beyond honing out, so I am going to have to have it bored oversize... so I got hold of a set of low mileage LS1 pistons and rods and will be having the block bored to 99mm from 97. Apparently the walls are thick enough to support...

    LS Swapping my '95 Silverado (5.3 LM7)

I'll have a look at the wiring diagrams and try and figure it out. I've given up on the motor for the time being as it needs a rebore. Plus it's been raining hard all day today so I decided to get the transmission rebuilt. I needed to strip it down to fit the 4wd output shaft anyway. Pulled...

    LS Swapping my '95 Silverado (5.3 LM7)

Haven't considered it to be honest. What year is yours? I stripped the rest of the motor down tonight, just the crank and cam to remove now, but the hardest part is done. Getting the crank pulley off. The bolt is done up FT... and the pulley is a press fit on the crank snout at well. Hard to...

'95 K2500 on the wrong side of the pond...

I stripped the rest of the motor down tonight, just the crank and cam to remove now, but the hardest part is done. Getting the crank pulley off. The bolt is done up FT... and the pulley is a press fit on the crank snout at well. Hard to get a puller on it unless you have the special tools, which...

    LS Swapping my '95 Silverado (5.3 LM7)

Shouldn't need to splice much at all.... The LS to GMT400 harness is pretty simple from what I can make out. Aside from the power and ground connections: 1.The oil pressure sensor isn't used by the LS PCM, so replace the LS sensor with the one from the original engine to make the gauge work. I...

    LS Swapping my '95 Silverado (5.3 LM7)

Finished wrapping up the harness this afternoon. Just a couple of pieces to finish, but I'll leave those until it's in the truck and I know exactly where everything needs to be. I also made a start on tearing down the motor. It's certainly been stood outside uncovered at some point. Haven't...

    LS Swapping my '95 Silverado (5.3 LM7)

The C100 connector on the LM harness has been totally removed. The fuel pump relay will power the fuel pump directly. Not going to do anything with the oil pressure sensor.
