I have the ability to convert the pulses to voltages now, but what is the voltage trange for this generation cluster?

    Speedometer signal on 98 Silverado

Guys I found a Texas instruments device that can convert the speedometer pulses to voltage, I have made some calcs, do you knoe what are the voltage increment inputs per mile or per kilometer for a GMT400 stepper motor? my cluster reads 0-200km/h but it supposedly does not work. so I want to do...

    4 speed manual transmissions

other thing bud, these crazy basts equipped on our trucks (Mex market) Tremec TR3340-7 trannies as stated in the post up, I am investigating if they have the parts interchangeable with the 5 speed TR3350-6 that was equipped in a few 1995 trucks for Mexico.

    4 speed manual transmissions

I agree bud, T5 is rated only to 300 lb-ft. On mine 1st on downshift and 2nd both up and downshift already grind awful since I had the original 4.1L engine, I want to get an NV3500/4500, or a Tremec T56 from a Camaro. not cheap options of course.

    4 speed manual transmissions

Guys update on transmission: I GPS'd the truck and @ 3,000 RPM in 4th gear I only ran @ 60mph, does it sound a real number for a 3.45:1 diff? that is that the diff tag tells, but according to what you have told me 3K RPM @ 60MPH is likely a 4.10:1 or 3.94 please correct me if I am wrong. Regards.

    4 speed manual transmissions

Adding now T4/T5 gear ratios: 1st 4.03 2nd 2.37 3rd 1.50 4th 1.00 5th 0.86 (on T5 only, as T4 only has 4 speeds, though they can share case) It is said this would not be a strong transmission for high torque (Also Tremec rates them @ 300Lb-ft admissible torque input) even if I can convert to 5...

    4 speed manual transmissions

Guys, guess what???? we were all wrong, I felt there was something not squaring here as my tranny does not look like a SM465. Well, it is a T4 Tremec built in a T5 Case, I have found my tranny has the Tremec logo casted, and has exactly the same shape and sensors as the T5 as well as there was...

    GMT400 History

Well guys we never end being surprised. one more thing to add to the GMT-400 history. Mexican GMT-400 Silverados (base trims equivalent to the W/T series in the US) had a Tremec T4 4 speed tranny, probably most of them having them built in the case of a T5, amazing, my gear box has the Tremec...

Hi guys, I have a 98 silverado and took off original 6 cyl engine, and all its electronics to replace with a 454 ci carbureted V8, can I still make the speedo work with out the electronics? please advise. I have connected the tach directly to the distributor and works great.

    GMT400 History

In Mexico only the "Cheyenne" trim was having the 3rd door option, even the silverado versions did not have extended cabs back then as opposite to the US the Silverado trim is the base model.

    Speedometer signal on 98 Silverado

Hi can the speedometer sensor send a direct signal to the cluster through the module? I have swapped my truck's engine for a Carbureted V8 Speedo did not work already, but I think that even if I get a replacement cluster I may still not be ale to use the speedometer. Please help

    GMT400 History

Hi Just wanted to add, that GMT 400 trucks made in Ft Wayne for the Mexican market had the Silverado C-1500/2500 designtion for the work trucks with 4.1L L6 engine for the 1500 and the 5.7L V8 TBI for the 2500. both of these trims equipped a 4 speed manual transmission and a 3.45:1 Spicer...
