Right. I agree it doesn't look right on the truck. I think it would give it a newer, more updated look as well as fitting the truck better.

I would do the 94+ Chevy, but I've never been a huge fan of the open mouth look on the GMC personally.

Thanks guys. It runs great! It looks a little better without 6 months worth of dust on it, and a front clip back on there. It actually looks like a truck again haha.

Insured, and plated the truck Thursday. Bought a new distributor, a new cap, and rotor on Friday.. fired the motor for the first time a couple hours ago. It runs! Still have to set the timing, and adjust valves before I can drive it. I'm beyond excited. I'm going to try to get it cleaned...

Yeah everywhere I called has remans for $99.99, which includes everything but cap, and rotor.

That's what I figured, and why I asked. I hit it with a wire brush, and it cleans up okay, but it just looks iffy haha. Thanks guys.

Finally got it, and this is what it looks like now. Worth cleaning up with a new pickup coil, or just buy a new distributor?

Save me $100? Help!

Need to replace the pickup coil on the distributor, and in order to get the old one off I have to remove the cam gear. This is where I'm having an issue, I cannot for the life of me make this little pin budge. Any tips?

You could always donate one of those Montes to me! I know how it can be a problem choosing which car to drive, or work on haha. It would be really cool having matching trucks though.
