I’m a DA…what maintenance have you screwed up?

Checked the oil on my wifes VW CC back in 2010. She and her sister were whining "hurry up, we want to get going". Ten minutes later they pull back in from filling up and say the engines smoking! I forgot to put the oil cap back on. Lucky for me I just had to reinstall it and did a quick pressure...

    R4 Scroll Compressor Experience

I used this scroll type back on 5/9/21 andit's still going strong. That said, I do not drive it much. But I used it around the farm this last week multiple times and it was sitting idling while I loaded brush and it was freezing me out. Granted it was only in the 80's but worked well for me...

    Tbi fuel pressure gauge adapter

Took these pics today. Looks like it runs around 11 psi at idle. I may have to take the tbi unit back off sometime and install the adj regulator.

    Tbi fuel pressure gauge adapter

Did adjusting your fuel pressure help with anything? I bought the same kit, drilled the hole but didn't install the adjuster. I can't for the life of me remember why I didn't install it after having it all ready and on hand when I did the rebuild.

    Tbi fuel pressure gauge adapter

I installed the CFM adapter and gauge 3 years ago when I rebuilt the tbi unit on my 94. As mentioned, I had to loosen the fuel line brackets but after that it went smoothly and I've never had an issue. I really like it. Picture is on my old laptop. Dang....anyways thumbs up on this upgrade!

    1994 Chevy 1500 5.7 TBI Running Issues

When I dropped my tank on the 94 that same grease/paste type stuff filled the entire lock ring area. Everything under it was like brand new. They should have covered the whole frame in that stuff for people in the rust belt! Lol!

Old school pics of our trucks

Here's a pic of mine late 94 or early 95. I had just finished doing the Black Diamond lift on it and getting my wheels and tires.

What tool out of everything you have do you regard as your best investment.

I, like a couple others, still have the complete Craftsman set I bought in October 1975 between tech school and my first assignment overseas. The 1/2" fine tooth is still original, the 3/8 they gave me a replacement gear set for at least twice, the 1/4" skips but over the years I've accumulated...

    What is this electrical device?

I'm no expert but I would eliminate it back to the splice at the alternator.

89 RCLB K1500 - Quality time with my son building his first truck.

Haha, I understand how that happens. Back in 03 I went to a car show in Columbus. Coming back I passed Summit on the way back to PA. Stopped just to look around. Ended up with my bad half full and wallet a good bit lighter. Couple weeks back returning from my daughters in Kansas City, we passed...

    Engine backfires at high rpm

Start with the easy stuff. I would try and eliminate the misfire on cylinder 3 first. Did you put new plugs in? Check plug wires? You could run a compression test on that cylinder as well.

    Undercarriage coatings?

I agree with Drunkcanuk. get some really good paint on there and then annual coatings of something that you can reapply annually. Every undercoating I've ever used here in north central PA has eventually developed pockets where moisture gets under it and rust starts. I've used cosmoline...
