Beautiful truck. Just the way I wanted mine to look. When you did the 4” drop in the back, did you do the front and rear hangers and did you take out any Leaf springs. Mine sits higher than yours with my 4” drop.
I just went thru all 80 pages of your build and it’s awesome! I just recently picked up a 99 for $1000 that I plan on converting to a dually. Thanks for the inspiration.
It’s looking sweet! Love your updates. Looks like I wasn’t the only one doing a w/t front end swap this weekend. I went with the GMC grill though. Unfortunately my single cab dually is being used as a parts truck for my crew cab build now.
I’m running duals on my 93. It’s a 305 with hooker headers, dual 2.5 inch pipes, no cats, thru two black widow venom 250 mufflers with turndowns at the rear end. No H pipe or X pipe. One problem I have is not enough back pressure. I get an EGR code everytime I drive it.
The only issue I had with using the 88-91 dash is where the plug for the instrument cluster slides in is different from the 92-94. I had to cut a square in the dash to slide the plug thru and just press it into the gauge cluster. So far it hasn’t backed out.
I’m currently swapping a 4.3 to 305. It’s mostly been a straight forward swap. There are a few things you will have to get off of a v8 truck that you aren’t able to swap over from the 4.3. The guys at the u-pull it know me well now.
The spindles on the C2500 and C3500 are the same. I converted my C2500 to a dually but I had the donor truck right next to it while doing the swap. While I was at it I did a 3/4 drop so I just used the lowering spindles. Everything was a direct bolt on.
They are Alcoa’s. 22.5s cut down to 22s. Tires are 265-40-22. This is one mutt of a truck. Parts from 1500s to 3500HD trucks. It has a 3-4 drop currently.
Sorry, I need to elaborate. The truck was originally a 2500 w/t. I converted it to a dually and had the gears swapped from the 3/4 ton...
