Very good point! I had to go check this and the only item on the 7.4 that bolts to the block and head is the Cast Iron AC bracket with the power steering pump tab to boot.
I picked one of these up locally from an industrial LP application. This is a Gen 6 BBC tall deck with all the $$ upgrades:
-fully adjustable valvetrain on Gen 6 heads
-8.1L Camshaft and firing order
-58x reluctor on the snout
-4x cam pickup on the front cover
-oil pump drive stub shaft (no...
Ok had time to mess with it. If you are messing with your EGR setup here are some facts.
Fittings in the manifolds are both the same 6400-14-12 7/8"JIC to 3/4"ORB
This translates to a 1 1/16"-12 thread size in the intake and exhaust manifolds.
EGR Tube is 7/8"ID and 20" Long Discontinued by...

Alternatives might be a 1"x18" SS Supply hose and 3/4" ORB to 1 1/4" MNPT Adapters in each manifold.
Like someone said take the fittings out of each end Intake and Exhaust manifold. figure out the pipe thread sizes and then order stainless hydraulic fittings to adapt to a JIC size you can obtain. Then update this thread with the results. If I get a chance I'll measure the female pipe threads...
I am approaching 200k on my 2000 K3500 with stock 454 and plan on dropping in a new motor once the clock rolls over. Has anybody strapped some turbos or boost to one of these in stock trim and had reliable results? It's a CCLB so I have acres of room under the cab to rear mount some turbos...
Good luck finding a tube. Fittings are -14 JIC.
A feller might try cannibalizing a 5.7 hose or a stainless steel MagnaFlex Pipe and weld the ends to some female swivel fittings.
Well the limited fix has held up to 650 miles of Rocky Mountain Race Week. No quarter mile passes but I did find out going into limp mode with a transgo stage 2 shift kit is rather strange. I could get 1st gear with no apply pressure, 2nd gear and 3rd gear worked as normal. Fixed the wire and...
Update... Got the tranny back in and it seems to be working now. Had a mishap with a thrust bearing and forward sprag washer trying to occupy the same space. Had to order some additional parts. One thing I did notice was that when the pump went it deformed the notches on the converter pushing...
The pump body and cover are usable in my opinion not perfect but no deep gouges. The transmission center .net only sells billet or OEM rotors as they claim aftermarket rotors fail early. I measured the old ones and ordered new AC Delco parts of rockauto. Toatl cost will be around $100
