The Suburbans and 2-door Tahoes/Blazers were available like that from the factory but I think it was fleet order only because every one I've seen like that was some sort of ex fleet vehicle. His truck being from the forest service would explain that.
It's been done before, at least in the front. There's pictures in this thread, they added the console too.

Damn, that price is pretty high especially after looking underneath. Looks like it had some serious rust that got painted over, judging by the roughness and the rust on the edge of the bumper. Found a clean looking one near me for alot less

What brand ICV did you get? Being DOA wouldn't be out of the question. As far as the plug I would try wiggling the wire around with the truck at idle and the ICV plugged in and see if the engine speed changes. I had a similar problem on my BMW with an intermittent drop out from the TPS, wiggled...
You may be able to use clips like the ones in that kit to hold the flare to the inner fender lip, how far back (from the outside to end of the flat part in the wheel well) do the fenders go vs. the flare? Have any pictures?
The newer taillights wouldn't fit, they're a completely different size and shape. As mentioned there are aftermarket LED options for our trucks that are close in appearance to the 07-14 escalade tails.
Yep. Try hooking up a pressure gauge, I did that on mine and you could see the compressor turned off when the pressure dropped below a certain threshold. You may have a leak losing refrigerant somewhere, might want to get the system checked.
FYI in case anyone has the same problem, my oil pressure gauge would randomly jump up high off the scale, somwhat related to changing oil pressure. (getting on gas seemed to get needle to normal range when it did this) I suspected the sending unit so I replaced that a few weeks ago and the gauge...
It's not a myth, it came on the 97+ 2500/3500 trucks since they were not required to have airbags. Not sure if you'd be able to find the part new though, the wrecking yard might be your best bet
I usually use white lithium on hinges but it didn't seem to work as well on the 400 as it does in other applications, I just tried some silicone and that seems to have worked alot better with smoother operation and less noise.
Doing a drain and fill would still involve changing the filter (or not), it's opposed to a flush. Because of the fluid in the cooler and torque converter a drain and fill only replaces 1/3 to 1/2 of the fluid. A flush would introduce 100% new fluid and the pressure from the machines could also...
Not sure if the shifter would be similar but on my 99 the column shifter itself doesn't fully go into the detent for the OD position, it needs to be pushed lightly toward the dash to fully seat and if not it will usually "pop" fully into the detent going over a bump or such while driving. Maybe...
How does the fluid in there now look? If it's still clear and red/pink a drain and fill probably wouldn't hurt anything but if it is brown/black and hazy then there is clutch material in the fluid itself which is why they start slipping if changed. The material in the fluid provides extra...
