I would like to add to this. If you are planning on doing this, you may want to look at other variables that my be an issue with your build. If you are doing a big build for a lot more torque - the transmission, gear ratio, and cam selection should match what you are doing. The 700r4/4l60...
Yeah I would start with any vacuum leak. tighten up the throttle body bolts, look for bad vacuum lines, bad iac, brake booster grommet dryrotted, etc. Bone stock it is weak anyway. High idle is usually vacuum leak somewhere.
Posting an update for someone who may be in a similar situation. My engine may be different from others. I have set the timing to fixed 20 degrees advanced. engine runs great through most of the powerband. When the engine comes to temp it struggles at idle. I am purchasing a bored out...
ok thanks. I know it was a wierd question. I am doing some experimental things to my fuel injection. The timing will be computer controlled in the future, but until that is set up it has to be locked in a fixed position. It has been a slow process getting the parts that I want. The truck...
Hi guys!
I have a 91 5.7 with a howards cam
110235-12
it is about 9.5 - 1 compression.
I am doing some experimental stuff with my fuel and ignition. I am running a 600 cfm carburetor at the moment. Due to my current situation, I will be running with no ability to have any variable spark...
Yeah my thoughts exactly.
I am not sure where he got angry, but at least it doesn't bother me in the slightest bit. i just assume his dog bit him or he just found out he got a STD.
I already have the megasquirt kit and the wires are ran for it. The problem is how I am going to do the...
I have assembled a megasquirt fuel injection computer and a wideband O2 sensor to get ready to go back to fuel injection. The engine is heavily modified and the stock tbi was not enough to handle the fuel delivery accurately and it also did not have the capacity to flow enough air or fuel. The...
Thanks! Not much fun putting it in with 95 degrees high humidity on asphalt. It is not the easiest thing to do on a lifted 4x4 92’. Worst part was my upgraded polyurethane moter mounts. Had to grind the mounts Witha dremel tool.
