    busted seat frame

Idk where you're from, but the local salvage yards usually have tons of seats that will fit, some of them in pretty decent condition. For the most part, any seats from a 95-98 Sierra / Silverado or 95-99 (sometimes 2000) Tahoe / Yukon / Escalade will work no issues. Do keep in mind wiring might...

Replacement Ignition Lock Cylinder Won't Turn

Update: locksmith wasn't able to do much. Looks like the problem is something in the ignition cylinder housing is preventing the cylinder from turning. Went ahead and disassembled and removed the steering wheel, clockspring, lock plate, and finally the ignition cylinder housing. I wasn't able to...

Replacement Ignition Lock Cylinder Won't Turn

Thank you for this information, I was able to get the shifter lock out, which allowed me to put the truck in neutral and pull it to a spot that's easier to work on. Unfortunately the steering wheel is locked still. I went to drill out the lock cylinder today but it's tougher than nails... even...

Replacement Ignition Lock Cylinder Won't Turn

The only problem is the lock cylinder was replaced by the previous owner. I can get a new cylinder and key set from ACDelco no problem, I'm just worried that it'll get stuck too and need to be drilled out (like the problem is somewhere else)

    Camaro Door Chime Swap

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS THREAD! I found a 4th gen Camaro at the junk yard today and nabbed a chimer off of it. 30 seconds later and my 99 Yukon no longer has that awful buzz... it sounds like a modern truck! FYI I was browsing through various GM makes and models today at the junkyard and...

Replacement Ignition Lock Cylinder Won't Turn

Hi all! In my 99 Yukon, the ignition lock cylinder is wearing out. The key is loose in the cylinder, and I usually have to "shake" it a couple times to get it to start. Usually, it starts without a hitch. However, the plastic trim around the lock cylinder is all busted up... So while I was...

    Radio stop working

Yeah sounds like either too much load / resistance on the wiring from the deck to the speaker, or insufficient power / amperage being delivered to the deck (not as likely but a good possibility). I would get a multimeter and start checking out voltages... see what kind of voltage you're getting...

    The 99 Yukon "Restoration" Build

Hey all! For those of you who don't know, here's a little back story on the truck... I bought a 99 Yukon SLT 2WD a few months ago in an interesting condition... the engine and drive train were pretty much in perfect condition (except for a small oil leak), but the interior and exterior were...

    HVAC bulb replacement

The HVACs and other interior switches like windows, locks, etc are all lights soldered on to a printed circuit board. Basically, you have to disassemble the component to get to the board, unsolder the old one and solder in new SMD LEDs. There's a really good write up on this here...

    What is this?

My best guess is it has something to do with a siren or flasher or something... it's circular shape reminds me of a distributor, so I would have to imagine there's something in there to pulsate an electrical signal (like switch something on and off at a given interval)... Since all the wires...

    Radio stop working

40 is the max volume on Pioneer head unit's if I'm not mistaken, right? What kind of speakers are you running? Any amplifiers? Did you make sure to check the fuse in the back of the head unit?

    My First GM Truck!

Hello! This week I just purchased my first GM truck... a 1999 GMC Yukon SLT. It's black, just shy of 200,000 miles, runs like a champ, and was a great deal! The reason I bought the truck was seeing how well it runs. This particular one has the cleanest engine bay I've ever seen (and I don't...
