ok gents here’s my dumb question of the day.
What sensors from the engine feed into the transmission controller? From my understanding the only values I can find is the readings from the tps on the throttle body..
Reason I’m asking is I’m about to do a full engine swap on a 383 stroker (finally...
Delphi is good equipment. Delco is oem, which means before gm will rebadge a product, it has to meet there quality assurance. I agree that some aftermarket is better than oem( no one beats fel-pro for gaskets... period) delco products are usually my preferred way to go as I know they are good...
Most likely you need a 955k6 belt. If you had the 120 amp alternator which most vehicles didn't come with you would need the 968k6 belt. That belt number will cross reference with every major distributor out there.
The tbi is actually dead simple and easy as heck to work on, just the fact that most of them are 20 years old things wear out and gaskets degrade. Wheelman had some good pointers though- the injectors do NOT interchange nor do the bases between the 305/350 and the 454. Follow the instructions...
No risk to damage to the tank. They used poly tanks in our trucks unlike older model steel tanks. Half tank sitting for a while yeah your running some condensation risks. If you keep the truck in your garage where it's in a semi stable environment you don't have to worry as much.
could be a good posibility. The plug wires over time get solidified from heat and fuel vapors/oil/gunk and can cause issues. Also- the rubber grommet can degrade, and the air filter assembly if not seated correctly can cause a short on those four wires.
I didnt empty it prior, I dumped two bottles in, and ran the dog snot out of it to empty the tank. When I put the truck into storage now for deployment, I dump a couple bottles of Stabil in it, and fill the tank to the brim. When I get back from deployment (like I did last year) I dumped two...
ATF according to the dealerships I've dealt with is what they recommend for some reason on their power steering systems. I've talked with three different mechanics and they said a lot of times when they replace them at the shop they fill the system with atf vice power steering fluid. Not sure if...
Grab the ac delco tbi rebuild kit from amazon. Cost me 12$ three beers, a gallon carburetor cleaner can, and a little cussing getting the injectors to reseat (lube the o-rings with a small amount of atf....) but was well worth it
It's a 98- spider injector not tbi wheelman. I'd say dirty fuel could be causing it. Our ethanol fuels today absorb water like crazy if you let it sit for more than a couple weeks without putting fresh fuel in. Shelf life on modern ethanol fuel is only about three weeks before they start having...
Almost sounds like a vapor lock scenario. If one injector is spraying and the other isn't sounds like heat soak we used to get on old carbuerated engines.. bad injectors maybe? Maybe vapor lock in the injector pods? I pulled the injector pod apart on my tbi and the orings and small filters were...
It's just your engine telling you it's still there and is still running. They like to remind you every now and then to see if your paying attention lol
