I have the one ton calapers also and I found that the bolts are a bit too long. I ground a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch off both of the bolts and they no lpnger touch the rotor. I would look there, as an easy test put a couple lug nuts on the studs with out the tire and then back off the calaper bolts and...
Glad I have one of the ones that did get "sprinkled". LQ9 w/ headers and a tune with NO issues, and I'm not a gentle driver
Later NV3500s will work fine, My truck had one out of a 94 2500 when I strarted working on it, I don't know where the 88 tranny went
Still looking for a tuner here in the area to close the book on this install. runs great but pops some in the exaust when I take my foot off the gas in gear. Also bet there is a bit more power waiting to be tuned in with the addition of the headers.
No, No AC on the truck and it came off the motor easy. The compressor had its own brackets and belt. If its too hot to ride the bike I take the Impala. The truck is for the rest of the time - bad weather, winter, and truck stuff (hauling, towing)
You can pick up good quality 3 pin headlight connectors at the local parts store (O'Reileys, etc) for $20 and not have to worry about 30 years of corrosion on pieces you cut from a truck at a yard.
I have done a little ;) more to the truck this summer. The Holley MPFI system was acting up and needed to be updated....so I did an LS swap to a 2004 LQ9. It is stock exept for the Pacesetter headers (GMT-800 that fit perfect) and is bolted to the 5 speed. I redid the harness myself and even...
Years ago I had a truck, Chevy of course, and it had a strange sound when I started it and a rattle when driving. When I dropped the tranny the outer part of the flex plate fell to the floor. The inner part was still bolted to the crank. It started and ran, I was just looking for why the noise...
Thanks for the comments. I enjoy every minite behind the wheel, the ZR2 was ok and in nice shape but didn't have the power that I wanted. My other registered vehicals go MUCH faster and smoother but the truck is great for a rainy day trip to work sideways around corners.
Soft cover on the bed and the bar and lights on the front
I got a lot of good ideas and tech help on this forum during the build, THANKS.
Lots of detail work on the truck not listed here. Lots of parts from LMC and O'Reileys as well as others. It took 6 months to get it on the road and most...
