Throw that gas guzzling 454 in a boat, get yourself a LQ4 and put a cam in it with some long tubes and a tune. When I put my 6.0 in my 98 ecsb it was like a whole new truck! I could go on and on about mods you should do but unfortunately money is a precious commodity these days, so stick with...
Good to see there are still people out there who care about customization and fine details. I have the same LQ9 that's in your truck and I absolutely love it! I highly recommend a tune and some long tubes to wake it up. Your caddy is looking seriously tough, good work!

My review thus far for the Auxbeam LED bulbs. First and formost, like I said, they are incredibly bright and almost too bright. I have the housings pointed down pretty far and I occasionally get flashed by on coming drivers when my low beams are on. Some people say that they should only be used...
I just installed some Auxbeam F-16 LED lights (9005/9006) and so far the brightness is incredible compared to halogens. I haven't had a chance to road test and adjust the housings but so far the install was super easy and even though I only have 10.5 volts to the lights while the engine is...
Nice little short bed! I also have a 98 ecsb but I got rid of that gutless 350 and put a 6.0 LQ9 in it and what a difference!! It's hard for me to get traction in wet snowy/icy conditions because of all the extra power haha! Highly recommend that swap!!

A friend of mine has a SAS'd 95.5 ecsb but he has gas coilovers that are adjustable from racetrack stiffness all the way to your grandpas Cadillac. So in my honest opinion I wouldn't mess around with leaf springs. Besides leaf spring "technology" came out some time in the 1700s I think.

Any update on your wiring? I finished my swap last year and I just got back from Korea so I'm cleaning up my wiring now. I swapped an '05 LQ9 into my 98 Z71
I'm also in the search for some decent speakers for my '98 ecsb but I'm doing the whole truck. There's a small part of me that wants to match everything like we did back in the day. I think my truck had the premium sound package because it seems like it has a component style speaker set in the...
4.8? Why not just go with a 5.3? You can get one from just about any junkyard these days for cheap, they have more power and better economy than a 5.7 and in most cases they'll bolt right up to your transmission. I just swapped my 5.7 vortec to a 6.0 LQ9 in my 98 ecsb and it wasn't that bad. It...
Not to butt in here...but if you're looking for decent cam advice, rather than just buy a similar cam to what someone else is running, contact the company who grinds the cams (aka Comp) and tell them exactly what your setup is and what you expect out of the vehicle. Each setup is different and...
A leaf setup would be easier to build and somewhat cheaper but you won't ever match the ride quality and off-road capability of linked coilover setup

The front end on the GM full size trucks (and blazers) are almost identical except that the front of the frame rails are straight on the 4WD and curved on the 2WD. Watch the video series of the SAS build here http://www.powerblocktv.com/episode/XT2011-03/full-size-blazer-part-one#.VL0dqoFOKK0...
I'd like to see someone do a build with these parts, maybe you're the candidate!! http://www.rustysoffroad.com/builder-parts/television-builds/xtreme-4x4-full-size-blazer-builder-parts-kit.html

I guess it largely depends on your budget. I just pulled my 350 out this weekend and now have my 6.0 LQ9 sitting pretty in its place. Doing the swap is pretty intimidating but also pretty exciting. It took a lot of research on multiple forums to come to the conclusion that I needed to upgrade to...
I'm in the middle of doing my LQ9 swap now with a 4L60E but I'll be swapping to the 80 later this year. I know for a fact that you have to have your stock driveshaft shortened or find one that's already short enough. And in addition you need to lengthen your front driveshaft slightly. It's all...
