I’d have to hook a gauge back up to it.. but I haven’t seen any fuel problems. Like I said... it runs really strong when it’ll start, but sometimes it sounds like the distributor has been turned 180* out of time.
New ..
Distributor
Plugs
Wires
Spider
Fuel pump
Crank sensor
Only code I’m getting is bank 1 #2 heated circuit
Truck runs strong when it’ll start... then you might turn it off & it’ll sound like the timing is out 180*. This is my first experience with the vortec & it’s got me confused. Does it...
I have a 92 x cab I swapped a full drivetrain & wiring from a 99 Tahoe with the 5.7 vortec. The problem I’m having... it sounds like the timing Is 180* out sometimes... then other times it fires right up & will run great for days. I’m at a loss. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Update!! Got it to start & connect to my scanner... not really sure what I did other than putting the battery on charge overnight. Either way... it’s running again. Thanks y’all
I’ll check the distributor next. I was just really confused bc it’s been running like a top... the distributor is new but a rock auto cheap replacement
Anyone ever see this issue? I have a 92 c1500 that I did a complete swap to a 99 Tahoe 5.7 vortec... harness & all over a year ago & no problems. It was running perfect yesterday & today I get in & try to start it & it sounds like it’s 180 degrees out of time. Any ideas would be greatly...
As far as vats... I have the complete 99 harness, column, lock cylinder & pcm & I'm not getting any security lights. Even still I did the 3x security reset just in case.
The fuel pump is for a 97 5.7. It was the latest year that would fit the 92 sending unit. It's supposed to have the same pressure & flow specs as the 99
I just did a 5.7 vortec with complete harness & interior swap on my 92 gmc. Everything came out of a 99 Tahoe except the trans. I kept my 5speed. During the swap.. I installed new spider, fuel pump, distributor & gaskets. I'm now getting a crank but no start. (Starts momentarily ) with the key...
