L29 454 MPFI Spider Conversion Questions

If you're in there to do injectors you might as well do the regulator too. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Catalytic Converter

I don't have to be a lawyer to know that removing cats is illegal under federal law. In the US local laws don't matter on that front, a state could make a law that says it's ok to remove cats, but it would be superceded by the federal law that says it isn't. And as I stated before, the feds...

    Catalytic Converter

Same. One of these days the epa is going to start cracking down on people that removed their cats. Think they're expensive now? Wait until a bunch of people who removed them have to replace them to be able to register their vehicle. Plus a modern high flow cat really doesn't sap that much power...

    Front Half Fuel Line Replacement

Huh, I didn't realize those were factory on my 88, I just figured someone had replaced the hard lines at some point in time. I had to replace them though since the fittings were shot. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Front Half Fuel Line Replacement

Check inline tube. They probably have them or can make them if it's not in their catalog. Plus they offer them in stainless for like $20 more Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    "Hidden" oil galley plug question

Found the video I was thinking of. GM borrowed the head chambers from the LT1 to make the vortec heads, maybe they decided to borrow that too. Or possibly someone else has already been into your motor & did it. Skip to 15:25, I tried posting the direct link to the time, but the forum stripped...

    "Hidden" oil galley plug question

I'll have to see if I can find it again, but I was watching one of karl ellwein's videos on the lt1 & it had something like that. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Big 3 cable upgrade crashes into ohm's law

I've seen a few people that have done it, but iirc it's pretty involved on these trucks, they had to trim the core support to get the depth they needed for the projector assembly. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Big 3 cable upgrade crashes into ohm's law

Friend of mine is a toyota tech in farm country. He told us about a prius that came in for wire replacement 3 times because rodents kept eating them. They finally told the owner to surround the car with mousetraps. Here's the one I use. Pulled from a camaro service manual. Sent from my XT1254...

1988 k1500 summit stock replacement headers

I put the ceramic coated version on my 88. Haven't had time to hook the exhaust up, but it's close enough that it won't be an issue. I'm going to a 3 wire sensor, but that was planned long before the headers, I actually bought the sensor & pigtail in 2013, they've just been sitting on a shelf...

    Big block headers

Gmt400 454 tbi headers fit right in, but you have to fab something up for the egr if you're not going to eliminate it. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    97 5.7 Vortec Temp/Coolant Sensor/sending Unit Clarifications...?

The sensor on the intake is for the pcm, the one in the head feeds the gauge as you thought. It wasn't until the gmt800s that the pcm fed the temp info to the cluster. It would require a tune, but that pcm does have the ability to run an electric fan as there was an optional auxiliary fan...

1994 Suburban 1500, 8 volts at fuel pump

I ended up upgrading both of my trucks with racetronix hotwire kits when replacing the pumps & tanks to avoid this. They don't make a direct fit, but I got one for another application (I'm thinking it was a gnx, but I'd have to look for the invoice) with the same pinout & same shape plug, I just...

1994 Suburban 1500, 8 volts at fuel pump

They tend to dislike being undervolted like that, so that may have contributed to it. Or it might've just been a bad pump, wouldn't be the first time that's happened. Personally I'd play dumb about the wiring & try to get it replaced under warranty. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
