    We do get high humidity, but not the heat. You can't walk too far in Michigan before your feet get wet.

    I think both my originals and TYC replacements are black. If I didn't toss the originals I'll have to check to see what color they are. I know I have the corner lights and reflectors still.

    I don't' seem to have issues with gas going bad. I just put the last of my 2-stroke mix into my leaf blower and used it a few days ago. That gas was mixed last year... or the year before. Mowers also start with fuel that's been sitting. Here in MI, ALL of our gas has ethanol in it, unless...

    All vehicles are prone to specific problems. You would probably be better off starting you're own thread, so people don't get confused on who's truck is whose, besides "exact same problem" often times ending up being different enough to require another solution.

    Could you give some more insight on that? I'm not seeing the purpose, if it's just a case of lifters being gunked up internally, and not a wear issue at the cam.

    It does get some engine heat, but it's out of the sun, so it might be ok. Here's an idea, Though. If the existing part can be slid out of it's home, on the connector, how about cutting the existing peg/post/pin off, drilling a hole, and pushing a new regular pin through from the back?

    I think I'd be afraid of it falling, either due to vibration or a collision (deer, car, whatever). I'd rather have it down low. Unless maybe newer CBs are lighter than the old ones I've seen.

    I was thinking something similar, but gasoline instead of diesel. My thinking is that gas might be more likely to really liquefy the crap, and not leave clumps that could plug up the oil pickup. I've not done either, so I'm just extrapolating from when I cleaned some valve covers with gas...
