3/4 tons don't come with V6s. he's either got a 350 or a 454 maybe a diesel? i'm leaning to 350.
i'm not sure what you mean by "built top end " assuming heads rockers and cam? ....truthfully what's making you feel the power loss is the combo of 35s and 3:73s. You need to be at 4:10 or 4:56s...
the cab mounts get replaced the exact same way as if you were installing a body lift.
loosen bolts on all mounts.
remove mount bolts on one side only
jack up vehicle enough to remove the body bushing on the side bolts are removed.
lower down install bolts loosely.
repeat on other side...
At the weight you’re planning on hauling that whole truck isn’t gonna do the job. 11,500 pounds is a lot to ask out of a 90s Chevy. And no I dont care how tough someone think the truck is at those weights you’re in “I need/should have a diesel for this” territory. Forget swapping engines...
If your car ran fine after you replaced the plugs and it’s not overheating you could be throwing away a perfectly good engine for a worn out one. The idea of a mechanic is to troubleshoot a issue not just throw parts at it. It’s not beneficial to the truck or your wallet.
I would check your...
The big plastic oval silencer should have a reducing cone inside. Just remove that. That’s what I did. Personally I wouldn’t run a open air cleaner cause you’ll suck in hot air. You can simply flip the air cleaner lid upside down to get that same effect.
It’s all good man. I actually like stock looking trucks. I don’t have a issue buying thjgs I need. For example my camping hunting truck has a bed cap and a winch larger all terrain tires and auxiliary lights. It’s set up for camping/overland travel.
Good luck with your mods. I would research...
I wouldn’t spend the money. Seriously just get the truck running right, put stock cast iron manifolds and of the sun cabs it is rotted out mandrel bent 3 inch exhaust and free flow muffler. Get a TBI unit rebuild kit and check the gearing. If it’s a 3:08 got to a 3:73 ( I wouldn’t even do that...
where was the 55psi reading taken from in the fuel system? What is your fuel pressure at the rail? If it’s lower check then fuel filter. If you have fuel pressure at the rail at 55…..See if the injectors are opening. You should hear them click or get a noid light.
If not working you have a...
If I replace any hubs I try to see if Timken makes a replacement. If they don’t I get a factory one. Too many fake crappy parts out there. Hit the google world and find a online dealer who sells ACDelco. Make sure you get the right tier as ACDelco really watered down their quality and they...
Yeah i have. I’m a electrician by trade. I work with lighting and relays every day. I was doing High Beam on with low beam relays when the internet was basically chat rooms. I made my own headlight harnesses before also. Still do actually.
You’ll never really get great light output out of...
Actually it won’t. It will act as a sealant for a while and “encapsulate the rust” but the rust will eat through eventually. The way it needs to be done is sandblasted or chemically removed. Then primer and paint.
Actually the quad headlights and even the composite are horrible for light...
You need aftermarket long travel UCAs. You’re gonna break a ball joint jumping that truck or eventually break something . A vehicle needs both up and down suspension travel.
The trim rings won’t line up cause they’ll be upside down if swapped. I don’t think the buckets will bolt in the radiator support cause they’ll be upside down in order to have the right angle following the front end
