So I decided the whole gauge cluster is out. I want to go with the Stewart Warner Wings collection.

1. I guess I need to go electric speedo?
2. Anyone have a pic of a similar install ?
3. it's going to be a custom wood piece. All my idiot lights will either go away or be on another panel in the cubby hole area ( old radio location), turn signals will remain in the panel. I am looking for some cool little bulbs that will accent the area. Have a couple ideas...

The speedos on these things are already electric.
My 2 cents would be to keep your idiot lights, at least the important ones like Check Engine, Battery and Brake. You could look into using the light pod from an '88 to '89 Town Car, that would probably fit. The ones with the digidash had a different light layout and style so that's also a different option.

Depending on how well you know electrics you stand a chance of creating an unsellable and unworkable mess. I would be very careful putting much "custom" stuff in that area. It could be great and it could end up as an unmovable yard ornament. Not trying to rain on the parade just advising caution.

Ed P... what is the story on the single DIN radio with flip up screen? Is that one of the ones with GPS and DVD capability? Saw it in your build thread. Does it have backup camera capability as some do?

All of the above. It works nice. I just have 4 little Alpines in the standard locations. Crutchfield is a good source to see what fits in those holes, then sho elsewhere.. or not.. Crutchfield does have the best info, wish their prices were as good. I flip the screen down in extreme temps or re-direct the vents to the sides, simple

Run GPS speedo and that takes care of a lot of your issues. Everything else can be tied in from the harness behind the dash that the factory cluster plugs into. I did mine with Speedhut gauges. I kept blinkers and high beam indicator. I run a Fi-Tech EFI so I don't need anything else ECU wise.

What brand of head unit is it? Source? Agree that Crutchfield thinks theirs are made of gold. Better prices on Amazon. I am interested in a unit that would include monitor for backup camera.
