Since the KDP fix is literally just a little scrap of metal cut to a teardrop shape so you can bolt it in on top of the dowel, I'd just make my own. The cost of that kit is mostly just gaskets and other crap that you'll be buying anyway in a kit for the engine, no need to double up or spend too much for the "fix"

KDP plate I'll definitely make, looks easy vs the $50ish kit. Trying to save what I can!!

So got that 4.7 head back and it looks good, so I imagine my cummins block will look good when I pick it up next week. Kind of worries me giving such a huge deposit up front to this guy but at least we got the head back within 24 hours.

Another teaser, only because crew cab and GMT400 :)

So we actually went to the shop's owners house where he had a 55 Chevy, a 67-72 GMC C20 truck, and this beauty. 1999 K2500 CCSB 454 with 134k in amazing "Resell Red" just kidding "Victory Red" and it has a bad engine supposedly, and we might buy it for the junkyard in which case I'll be the one fixing it and end up keeping it as my HD companion, but that means I'd need to sell the dodge because I would have way too many trucks and I love my Dodge since I grew up in it since it was bought new. But we shall see, maybe it will sit for a while and I'll just end up owning it. I fell in love the moment I saw it!

Seriously I would so drive that truck. I love CCSBs and that red made this truck. Pretty much every option minus leather seats. We will see though, may not happen but I'll be pushing to make this end up in my hands.

Trust me I really really want that crew cab! We will see though. It's amazing in person I tell you what, I would daily that sexy CCSB everywhere. Has hella CA back fees ($1800) but that isn't a problem since I can get them cleared, but I'll have a salvage title. Doesn't bug me one bit!

If I don't get it, maybe I'll just paint the HD victory red and think it's the same thing but way better! Minus parking aspects.

HOPEFULLY get to pick up my block this week. Guy has been kinda iffy and I want to get it started, make the zf6 adapter plate, and get it in the truck!!!

Also, another BS thing in this state, called SB-174 and I'll quote it. Found out about it the other day on a facebook group from a fellow CA 3500HD 6.5 owner.

SECTION 1. Section 4000.15 is added to the Vehicle Code, line
2 to read: line
3 4000.15. (a) Effective January 1, 2020, the department shall line
4 confirm, prior to the initial registration or the transfer of ownership line
5 and registration of a diesel-fueled vehicle with a gross vehicle line
6 weight rating of more than 14,000 pounds, that the vehicle is line
7 compliant with, or exempt from, applicable air pollution control line
8 technology requirements pursuant to Division 26 (commencing line
9 with Section 39000) of the Health and Safety Code and regulations line
10 of the State Air Resources Board adopted pursuant to that division. line
11 (b) Except as otherwise provided in subdivision (c), for line
12 diesel-fueled vehicles subject to Section 43018 of the Health and line
13 Safety Code, as applied to the reduction of emissions of diesel line
14 particulate matter, oxides of nitrogen, and other criteria pollutants line
15 from in-use diesel-fueled vehicles, and Section 2025 of Title 13 line
16 of the California Code of Regulations as if of January 1, 2017, or line
17 as subsequently amended: line
18 (1) The department shall refuse registration, or renewal or line
19 transfer of registration, for a diesel-fueled vehicle with a gross line
20 vehicle weight rating of 14,001 pounds to 26,000 pounds for the line
21 following vehicle model years: line
22 (A) Effective January 1, 2020, vehicle model years 2004 and line
23 older.

98 SB 174 — 2 — line
1
(B) Effective January 1, 2021, vehicle model years 2007 and line
2 older. line 3
(C) Effective January 1, 2023, vehicle model years 2010 and line
4 older. line
5 (2) The department shall refuse registration, or renewal or line
6 transfer of registration, for a diesel-fueled vehicle with a gross line
7 vehicle weight rating of more than 26,000 pounds for the following line
8 vehicle model years: line
9 (A) Effective January 1, 2020, vehicle model years 2000 and line
10 older. line
11 (B) Effective January 1, 2021, vehicle model years 2005 and line
12 older. line
13 (C) Effective January 1, 2022, vehicle model years 2007 and line
14 older. line
15 (D) Effective January 1, 2023, vehicle model years 2010 and line
16 older.

Essentially, SB 174 states that starting in the year 2020 the DMV will no longer transfer registration or renew registration for diesel vehicles year model 2004 or older with a GVWR between 14,001 and 26,000 pounds. No retrofit is available to delay or prevent this action. By the year 2023, no heavy duty diesel vehicles with GVWR greater than 14,000 pounds and older than 2011 will be transferred or allowed registration renewal. As an example, a Ford F450 has a GVWR greater than 14, 000 GVWR. You can CLICK HERE to view the bill.

So in other words I would have been better with a normal C/K3500 at this point since the GVWR is 10k on those and I'm at 15k.

Like the diesel swap is one hell of a loop to go through but I believe it's manageable, but the fact they will stop registration in 2020 will only give me just over a year to have it "legal" in California. Which is bullshit. Tf do they want us to do? 2011 and newer trucks? 1976 and newer gasoline trucks from 14-26k GVWR? Like ****, this **** is killing me. Makes me wish I was 20yo in 2007 so I could get around all of this stuff for 13 years. I plan on running a 3 car wedge trailer behind this thing hauling cars for the junkyard. I guess my only saving grace is there is a "yard" in Cornelius, OR and I could register it there. This regulation stuff is so lame. I love California minus Sac, SF, LA, and SD controlling the state but it seems like every year they tighten your freedom a little more no matter if it's guns, trucks, etc. I really really do wish State of Jefferson would happen. Even at the junkyard the newest truck in that group is actually my HD. ***** with the entire program and damn near made me sick when I heard of this.

Only diesels of a certain year or older. The stupid thing is they won't even let you retrofit. So if you have any truck that is registered for more than 14k lbs and has a diesel, and is 04 or older, you're ******. It'll be interesting to see how many companies have to go out of business because they cant afford to replace their fleets.

**** I forgot abt this bill, but the problem is that it's gunna be very hard for the state. That law will most likely put small businesses out of work so I'm gunna assume it'll work it's way into some type of voting cause even so cal businesses will be at the breaking point of getting a loan for these newer truck or closing down. An there is more an more people like us wanting SOJ. Or u get a p.o. box over in reno and register it there, or possible get it rated 1lb under if there's a way to work it. An I've been looking at getting another diesel and looked at a 4500, ****.
