What brand are those headlights?

I'm sort of curious to try a 6.5 now, I've done a little research in the past but recently discovered some new things I didn't know about them. Some day I might try to find a Suburban like yours or a K1500, luckily living in the South means no major rust too boot!

They're alright empty if you're not in a hurry. Torquey, great for WI, but would suck if trying to pull heavy out west at elevation. Not great for merging in a hurry, but pretty damn good for just driving around normal and getting OK mileage.

Honestly I'd probably break it. I had a heavy foot in my old 350, but it's gotten even worse now that I daily a 454; I go to pin it in a 6.5 and the truck would just leave the engine behind at the stop light.

The 6.5 is decent if taken care of and if the quirks are fixed. But they are underpowered compared to the other domestic diesels. I didn't care cause I love burbans

I hear that, my first truck was a 97 K1500 Suburban, loved that thing to death.

I'm on 6.5 truck number 3, all the 6.5s I buy have 250k+ and are all 94s lol. I haven't started a build thread on my new 94 eclb k2500 6.5 yet :)

I just picked up a 6.5L truck myself. Yes they are a different animal than the other diesel engines of the era, but are still capable. I did a lot of researching on them before taking the plunge just to know what I would be getting into. Dieselplace.com has a lot of great info about them.

I've towed a skid loader with success. Part throttle and full throttle feel exactly the same, but Im not trying to win any races while towing 12k lbs.

Sorry to say I just sold my Suburban. I got an offer I couldn't refuse. The GMT400 is my favorite truck platform. When I can find a rust free 96-98 Standard cab 4x4 454 5-speed, I'll be back!
