What paint brands?

I didn't kno napa even sold paint. I have a truck bed cap thank id like to change color as well but as far as practice I was gunna use a spare tailgate. Have anyone used products from eastwood? Or dupli color. I kno it would've been easier to not attempt this or have some shop do it but if I dnt attempt it I cnt fail an won't learn from my mistakes. Everyone starts somewhere.

There's a Napa down the road from me that is specifically a paint shop. It's crazy what they've got in there.

I own a restoration shop, and I build custom vehicles daily. There are endless choices when it comes to paint brands and systems. What you use really depends on what you are doing with the truck. Is the truck going to be something you want to show, drive daily, work out of? How long are you wanting the paint job to last? If you can give me those answers, I can give you some suggestions on what I would use for that application.

It'll become my daily driver and hauler, firewood, lumber etc. This truck isn't leaving my possession so I'd prefer it to last longer then couple years, and i dnt mind putting the time in working on it.

In the past, I had a friend that owned a body shop that would spray for me. I'd do all the disassembly and prep, and he'd spray. He had a professional booth and mixed his own paints (PPG) and I ended up getting it done for not much more than I would have had in materials. He sprayed regularly and laid the paint down better than I ever could have. He died a few years ago, but I will certainly try to find a similar scenario the next time I have one painted.

Right on man. Well, a line of products that I would recommend is Matrix. It is always best to use a line of products, as opposed to mixing and matching different product lines. Matrix is mid priced, great quality, and has very good hold out. They make primers, base coats, and clear coats. Wax the truck a couple of times a year, and the paint job should hold up at least 8-10 years easily.

I went on allkandy.com and purchased my paint from there.
Then I took the paint to my local shop to have them spray it.
They are almost done.
